Henschel XX-Large Natural Aussie Breezer Crushable 5310 Cotton w Mesh Crown

I'm a size 7 7/8 and finding a hat that fits, is packable, and looks good is quite a challenge. This hat delivers on all fronts. I was hesitant to crush it and would wear it or carry while traveling. It took me a few years to realize how silly that was. I can crush the dome and pack it flatly in a roller carryon. When I figured that out, and I trusted the hat would rebound, it further solidified this hat's role in my travel feature. I'll be soaking it in OxyClean when I get home from this trip. It needs a freshening before my next trip with it. Hopefully, it will be the Maldives!

I just purchased my seconf hat, in Natural color. My first is Earth color. I purchased the first one after looking in several stores for a hat to replace my crumbling straw hat. I wear 7 7/8 to 8 hat size and it's hard to find hats that fit. I purchased XXL in this and it fits perfectly. I have received several complements on the hat. One thing that interested me is that it is crushable, and I can pack it in a suitcase and it pops back into shape instantly. My first hat endured a 3 week hiking trip through National Parks in Colorado, Arizona and Utah. Other than a few perspiration stains, it did well and shows no wear. When I returned home, I just soaked it overnight in cold water and it looks like new. I purchased the second hat, in a lighter color, hoping it would be cooler in the hotter temperatures. I am most pleased with both hats. They shade my face and neck and are very comfortable.

The hat was sent in an envelope, so it was definitely crushed when I got it. I looked up what "crushable" means and discovered that it's the kind of hat you can coax back into original shape by steaming. This is what I've done. It doesn't look new, but it looks okay, like a hat that's been worn awhile.

I'm use to a hat with a bit tighter fit, but I am satisfied with it so far. Hard to find a hat I liked that was large enough, so this one fit the bill. Arrived early, hat was collapsed in the plastic bag it shipped in, by design, but popped out to shape perfectly, no issues. Hat is light, leather strap a nice feature, keeps my head cool and out of the sun. So far so good. We'll see how she holds up over time, but very pleased. I've had several complements on it already. Got tired of wearing ball caps, and needed a change. Seems a nudge toward an Aussie style, not a Texas style hat, which I like. Made in the USA a plus. Would recommend it. Brax.

Nice hat but why would you ship a hat in a soft pack?

I always have a problem with hats not being quite big enough and looking like a beanie on my head. Finally, a great looking hat that I could wear on vacation and actually fit my head. Got a pewter hat pin to dress it up a bit and wore it all week long on a cruise, looking forward to making use of it trout fishing this Spring. Holds its shape well, breathable, and looks nice. Can be dressed up or down so it was appropriate strolling around the city, at the waterpark, and will be fine fishing soon. Hopefully it will hold up long term, even so for the price I will just buy another. Perfect.

I measured my head, as per the instructions on their website, and when I received my hat today and tried it on I found it to be WAY too big. I don't know why but there it is. It's going right back, obviously. I thought of buying two different sizes to be sure that I'd have one that fits for an upcoming trip but I didn't. My mistake.

I had to return the hat because it was far too large, even though it should have been an XXL or 2XL according to Henschel's sizing chart. Other than that, the hat looked OK.I would have happily kept it if it had fit.

I have a size 8 head and a double crown. I got the 2XL (the last one) and I like it a lot. The brim doesn't touch my ears and its very comfortable.
