Strong & great
This is a great little unit. Decent clamping strength and really nice finish. Very easy to use and gives a sense of reliability.

Well worth it!
I got tired of my generic arm that only had 1/4-20s on each end. Thsi SmallRig seems pretty stout and I've already found 3 or 4 ways I can mount it on my cage or top handle. Bonus points for the magnetic pin in the handle to tighten it down. Wish I had bought this one sooner.

I TESTED ALL THE MAJOR BRANDS
I tested all the major NATO monitor clamp methods and the Smallrig NATO Magic Arm is by far the winner. Here's why:I tested the Smallrig NATO arm 3875... the NITZE field monitor holder N54-H2... the Newer filed monitor holder MA005... and the Smallrig Monitor Clamp 2906B.I did it using the HARDEST thing for a monitor clamp to do: Hold a LARGE caged monitor horizontally, while being adjusted by friction.Final conclusion: 3 of them can hold and adjust the monitor... but the Nato Arm 3875 is the ONLY one that can adjust to level the monitor to align with the horizon and hold its position. This arm also has a MAJOR advantage in that the NATO clamp is opened and tightened by a rotating lever. - All NATO rails are NOT the same width. Some are slightly wider and can then cause you to spend 15 minutes opening and adjusting the clamp to fit them. This defeats the entire purpose of quick clamps. This arm however fits ALL NATO RAILS immediately without tools. This arm is STRONG. - Unlike most of the others it seems like you could hold 2 monitors and have strength to spare, which is GLORIOUS.Second place is the NITZE... which is incredibly strong... BUT cannot adjust the horizon line. This is the best for "centered above camera" monitors if you're not going to use an "arm".SECRET TIP: The tension adjustment socket is hidden in these clamps below the 1/4" screw. You need to bend them 100% forward or backward to expose the tension screw and tighten it.The ONLY one that DOESN'T have a tension screw for tightening the horizontal twist is the NEWER. This is a permanent and obvious disadvantage.

A great adjustable arm for audio gear and field monitors alike.
This magic arm is so versatile and well-built that I can use it to place my field monitor in a different location than atop the camera rig. Along with the NATO rail clamp, the arm can be mounted anywhere I have a NATO rail installed.

Love These!!
These are wonderful!! I bought one of these to use on a short film shoot recently so I could have something a bit more versatile than a standard static hotshoe mount for the monitor.I got some NATO rails and added them to my Tilta cage and this slid right on and clamped down TIGHT. It held the weight of an Atomos Shinobi 7" monitor + two NP-F750 batteries without the slightest bit of droop. Once It was locked into place it stayed there.Super easy to unlock too so I could swivel the monitor around for the director or actors to look at and then back to me, as well as moving it into pretty much any position or angle.Highly worth getting.

Why did I wait this long?!
I always hesitated to get a system like this to hold a monitor because I have used simple ones in the past and they just seemed flimsy. After further research, I decided to purchase one and so far I am nothing but thrilled.

The best magic arm I've used
I have some of the older generation SmallRig magic arms. The work well enough, but this product has some great refinements. It's smaller and lighter than previous generations while still having the reach and hold. The finish is beautiful, sporting a smooth matte coating. The handle can be repositioned by lifting up. It has a built-in tool for tightening the screw. The articulation is everything you expect it to be - holding strongly and securely. Overall, a very fine product.
