Does what it says on the tin. Great for playing DVDs, CDs, ripping CDs to iTunes, etc. I haven't tried writing a disk yet, as that never seems to work for me no matter what drive or disk I use. I guess I'm doing something wrong each time.

It was well made and easy to use, very happy with it!

Looks very similar to the Apple external Superdrive but has a much lighter duty casing and feels comparatively flimsy. However comes with a zip up protective case for protection. Useful that it has USB C connector so that you use it with current Apple laptops etc without adapters. Simple plug and play with 2020 MacBook Pro.

The DVD drive was easy enough to install, however, it did not work well for me. It would not play a large number of my CDs -- perfectly good and clean CDs which are playing well in my other audio equipment. I think it would benefit from having a eject button.I have returned it for a refund. The Amazon return process did not work that well either. Hermes were supposed to pick up the parcel but failed to show up on two occasions, so i have had to take it to the local post office.

In a class of its own.

I recently bought a rose gold Mac Book Air for my wife and she wanted a DVD CD drive to go with it. After researching Amazon I was pleasantly surprised to find a matching colour drive at a reasonable price, which I ordered.It came with everything as advertised, however on plugging it into the Mac Book the drive would not work. After trying I my wife noticed that the USB -C cable was not fitting fully into the Mac Book port properly and also that the USB adapter provided was also loose.Very disappointed as other people seem to have had a good experience with the product. I have returned and hopefully will get a refund! I have not decided to try and get another one or go for Apple's drive (Which does not match the colour).

CD got stuck in there in the first week of use and I've tried absolutely everything to get it out with no luck.

This is a wonderful bit of kit. Arrived much earlier than expected. Comes with a handy usb-c to usb adapter too. It even makes the same noises as the apple one. Also comes with a nice draw string pouch for carrying.
