To tell you the truth I really didn’t expect this to work, but in reality it’s really amazing. It came in a very nice box, all the items (diodes, needle, and lighting rod) were included as well as the power supply. The unit itself is really cool with its clear case and everything just functions as promised. Two things, the instructions are pretty minimal, but on the non-music mode you can touch the electricity without getting shocked. I wasn’t too sure based on the instructions, but it’s fine. On the music mode they encourage you not to touch. It was really fun using the included lights and we even put an incandescent bulb up to it and it lit up. The video I included was the music mode and that was one of the best features as not only is the coil producing the music, it puts on a great show. Overall this is a no brainer gift to get any science enthusiast. It’s simply great for such a low cost. One warning though. It’s super loud. We wore earplugs and it was fine, but not recommended in a small room without them.

I purchased as a gift for my grandson. I tested first to make sure it was safe for him (He is 12.) No problem its very safe assuming he doesn't take it apart and swallow a screw. :) Very impressive little device. bright 6 inch sparks and impressive noise or music. What surprised me the most was it's Blue Tooth lock in. Locks in great and remains locked in. Thus you can play music into the device for really impressive stuff.

Works well (as described) Does overheat if used for too long. Unit shuts itself down when overheated and led blinks red. Just let cool down and it’s good to go again.

I have a larger Tesla Coil and this one works well and is so easy to setup in comparison to amaze the grandkids. Their website has sound files pre-converted to square waves to make them sound better. I believe you can also convert your own files. The fact that it receives the sound files over Bluetooth is great so there is no wired connection between your iPhone and the Tesla Coil for safety and preservation of your phone! I avoid letting the sparks touch the part where the electronics and primary coil is in the top plastic so as to not accidentally burn it out. I think this is a sound precaution. The main point on the five stars is this thing really produces nice sparks and is loud as you'd expect from a real Tesla Coil.

It’s cool, does what it says. Box says it includes a power chord it does not. Some of the photos are misleading- overheats quickly so you can’t crank the power very high.
