I use this product to make a galette.  We used to live in Paris, and I consider this to be almond powder.  It adds sweetness to the galette filling.  Mid-January is when the French make/eat galettes.  When you make the galette, you hide a fève.  It means a bean in French, but it's the term for the item you hide in the galette.  Whoever gets the fève in their piece is the king/queen for the day.  We moved back to the USA a few years ago, but it's a tradition we still do every year.  If I remember correctly, there may be a recipe on the back of this package for making a galette...however, you need to understand French.  This brand also has a "galette kit" as well.  I hope this helps.

Yes, In an oven.   The directions are in French and Dutch. I used Google translate. Sometimes I add an egg sometimes not. The egg will make it rise a little more. You can use water or milk. You know its the correct consistency if it pours in the pan like thick pancake batter.  I bake mine in an 11" round ceramic Tarte dish at 360* for 20-30 min. Any similar size baking dish would work.  I take an extra step to coat the dish with butter or cooking spray and light dusting of almond flour or whatever flour you have on hand so it comes out of the dish easy.  I watch it the last ten minutes so the edges so not get too crisp. It varies on which filling you decide upon.  I will sometimes slice the pears thin and arrange them in a pattern. I have also melted butter and coat the top for a nice glaze.  I have used cherries, berries, apricots and apple filling.  This is an easy dessert and always appreciated when given as a gift.
