## Description

Second studio album by the popular American singer. The follow up to her hugely successful debut album 'The Fame', the album features the singles 'Born This Way', 'Judas' and 'The Edge of Glory'.

Review: Little Monsters Rejoice! - I know reviews are meant to be coherent and objective but OH GOD I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH. I listened to it for the first time today, have played it through about ten times now without getting bored, and already know it word for word! It starts out powerful and doesn't let up - the first 6 tracks are undoubtedly the strongest, as Marry The Night (just gorgeous), Born This Way (beautiful feel-good lyrics and very bouncy), Government Hooker (kinky but amazing; does for this album what 'Monster' did for The Fame Monster), Judas (a club anthem about impossible love that hurts - not quite Bad Romance, but I've warmed to it thanks to hearing the single played again and again), Americano (THIS NEEDS TO BE A SINGLE!), Hair (liberating and sincere yet fun - Gaga all over), and Sheiße (a feminist anthem almost as fiery as Dance in The Dark: 'I wish I could be strong without somebody there/I wish I could be strong without this sheiße, yeah') are all stunning. There is a bit of a lull between this initial onslaught, the standout, cheery delight Fashion of His Love (very eighties and Kylie-esque!), and the 2 closing tracks which end the album with a bang; the Queen-based rock'n'roll tribute You and I, and of course the passionate Edge of Glory, but I'm sure the middle tracks will grow on me - they aren't bad, they just don't seem to have the same 'oomph' as the first and last few. I only have two complaints and they are minor - I was a touch disappointed that Gaga seems to have stuck with 90% club tracks here, which is a pity, because her softer vocal/piano efforts of The Fame Monster (Again, Again and Speechless) revealed an incredible diversity and really showcased her gorgeous voice, which wasn't drowned by club beats for once. I know she's at her finest and most comfortable with dance and upbeat tracks, but Speechless was one of my faves from TFM. My second complaint is that the swear words are cut both from the songs and the lyrics leaflet - this is ridiculous. Why don't they release an uncut version for listeners who don't want their music censored for them? This is an amazing second record from Gaga, and will solidify her as one of the greatest musical artists of the last several decades. She's a role model for following your dreams and being unafraid to be yourself, she adores her fans as much as they adore her, and her music is bloody good - whatever you say about her taste in clothes, you can't deny the sheer quality of what she's writing, producing, and performing. I'm off now to put You and I on constant replay.
Review: Excellent Album - I love this album, amazing vocals and unique artist
