These are brand new. There 2 in the pack. What is a Hippo? Hippo is made from durable heavy gauge Polyethylene, which opens up, origami style, into an open ended box shape when installed. The Hippo happily sits in the water underneath the large cistern float. When the toilet is flushed, the water confined within the Hippo is the volume saved. The Hippo also has a small hole which acts as a relief valve allowing slow circulation of water to prevent stagnation and evaporation. How long will my Hippo last? Indefinitely – Hippos are manufactured from Polyethylene and, when immersed in the confines of the toilet cistern, they are designed to last a lifetime.

**Q: Would this work in a hot water storage tank ?**
A: Unlikely, as in ‘hot water’, but i’m Just guessing now. Perhaps use bricks??? Sorry, can’t provide an accurate response.

**Q: does this work on a dual flush cistern**
A: They can but the single button flush would be quite small.

**Q: Can you not just adjust the setting in the cistern to not fill up as much?**
A: You can adjust float valve or ball valve but if set too low will not put enough water in cistern.basically the bag rises water level in cistern so uses less water . It’s really own preference to use these or not .

Very simple idea but, the best ideas are usually simple ones. Seems to work fine and takes less water to refil your cistern. If on a water meter will pay for themselves very quickly.

So i have effectively paid for 2 small plastic parcel bags. Not what I expected at all. But I thought ok give it a go!!! Its not even square you have to make it square, too big for my cistern, so had to fold it down. Really doesn't save that much water tbh. Really disappointed, no I wouldn't recommend and def would not buy it again. A big fail for me!!!
