Good quality excellent value

I thought about buying the EasyImpact 550 drill but didn't like the way the Chuck had to be tightened and the single speed. So I decided on this model, I am not new to bosch for my power tools so was reasonably confident I would get a good product, which Idid. I have used it on drills from 3mm to 13mm without any problems, even on a comical hole drill cutting through 25 mm thick aluminium plate, well over its rated maximum without any problems. Chose corded over battery as I needed reliability and guts over portability, and battery dress do not fit my bench stand. However, I will be replacing the keyless chuck, even though it has the lock button to assist the tightening it has still slipped once or twice, call me old fashion buti do like a keyed chuck and the hide and seek that come with one. Would highly recommend. 👍

The only reason I am not scoring this drill 5 stars across the board is 2 design flaws. First and least important for me, is that the drill stop tool is just a light plastic rod and is virtually useless for any serious purposes. It provides a visual guide and that's all - it simply pushes in or bends if you exert any pressure at all. The second, and more serious issue for me is the keyless chuck. It is so handy to have a quick tighten and release chuck when changing drill bits. However, because it is ''self-tightening'' you cannot actually be guaranteed that the chuck will grip the drill bit sufficiently tightly under pressure. So it is not uncommon to see the chuck spinning furiously and the drill not spinning at all, in the part-drilled hole. Far from ideal!! I DO like this drill for most lighter jobs, but I would definitely NOT trust it to get through more heavy duty tasks. Pity!

Great drill worth the money and more ..

Never had a similar one and I am very impressed with this. After using a cheap ikea combidrill, this is another level. It goes through masonry like butter. It has some issues with the chuck that others mentioned before, it comes loose some times but it's not a big problem. But if you want to use it for heavy duty works or drill a lot of things it coule be more annoying.

Well built, typical of Bosch tools. Robust and powerful. Feels good in the hands with a good grip and well designed. Would recommend.

The Drill is exactly what I wanted for DIY type jobs. I was a bit surprised though to find that it has a European two-pin power plug connection - and is supplied with a UK 3-pin adapter. Ultimately this is not a problem - but nevertheless this should be stated in the product description. Why is it NOT stated?

I needed a new drill to operate a drill powered water pump, for draining a water bed. My existing drill is over 25 years old and no longer up to the task. This was probably a bit more expensive than I had planned to spend, however it was well worth it. With adjustable speed and a lock-on function, I was able to set it up and then just leave it running whilst I got on with other stuff. Can’t wait to try it out with the more conventional tasks for a drill.

Not what I expected, it works well but I didn't realise I'd be getting the Euro model so I needed a plug adaptor for Australia ..... I'll end up getting the plug changed.
