Fits my pure breed Maltese well!! We just moved from Virginia back home to MAINE! Burr! Our fur baby has only ever lived in southern Virginia. That being said this is the perfect jacket for our non shedding dog. Dogs with hair instead of fur are not as well insaluted naturally as other dogs and their skin is thinner and their hair doesn’t keep them as warm as fur does.This vest jacket is insulated very well and has a fleece lining. Keeps my baby super warm. Not too stiff for a little dog. Nice and cozy! She has slept in it after a walk. The “D” rings for a leash would only be useful for a non pulling dog for potty breaks or a casual stroll. I LOVE the button at the top of the collar which keeps it on her while I line up the zipper for closure! Also LOVE that it has a zipper cover on the inside of the jacket so I don’t accidentally zip my dogs hair into the zipper because she has hair not fur so it would be easily done otherwise by mistake. I measured my dog according to the size chart in the images and order the size it told me I should based on the chart. I ordered the medium because the chart says if measurements vary go by the chest measurement. And it fits her perfectly! With a little bit of room to keep her warm and accommodate different hair lengths or variations in her weight however she is about 10-11 lbs last few times she has been weighted and has a chest measurement of 13 inches and a length from neck to tail of 18 inches. Also it’s worth mentioning that dog jackets that the dog steps into and closes on their back are really the only way to go, SO much easier then others to get on and off. The other is water repellent, soft and doesn’t rip easily. Great quality jacket! Goes right to her tail too. She loves it! Fast shipping! Will be buying more as gifts! Thank you!

MEASURE YOUR DOG’S CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE! Rounding up from 4.5 stars. Wish it had a fleece collar. I searched a long time for a coat that would fit my dog’s shape. She’s an 8lb chihuahua with a 17-inch chest. She’s only 10 inches long from base of neck to base of tail. Size SMALL fits her perfectly. Most coats that are large enough to go around her middle are too long and gape at the neck opening. The zipper is of a good sturdy quality and I am not worried about it failing. The interior is a very soft flannel-like material. It’s very thick and comfy for her and doesn’t restrict her movement. Goes on and off very easily and the leash loops on the back are fabulous. Fits well over her sweaters. Don’t know yet about water resistance. I’ve been happy with every Gooby product I’ve purchased. We have many of the fleece harness vests, highly recommended.

Me gustó mucho, es facil de ponerlo a mi perrita, y no tengo que ponerle la pechera para pasearla cuando lleva este chaleco porque trae unos anillos resistentes para ponerle directamente la correa. Al pasearla nos han dicho "tiene mejor chaleco que yo". Se ve muy bonito puesto también.

Our winters are so cold in Ottawa (Canada) and my two chihuahua mix rescues hate the snow. They had okay coats last year but have since lost some weight so we were looking for new ones that fit better and would hopefully do a better job of keeping them warm. This one is fantastic. It’s super high quality, very thick padding and nice soft fleece on the inside. I’m confident it will keep them toasty. I am just waiting for the blue to come back in stock so I can buy a second one. The best thing about it is the D-rings on the back - no need for a separate harness. This is a huge selling point for me (and surprisingly hard to find?!) when we already have to fuss with coats and boots. The last thing I want to deal with is another layer. The step-in and zip design also makes it super quick and easy to get out the door, which we really appreciate.In case it helps anyone with sizing, here are my dogs’ measurements. Small fits them both very well. Snug to keep the wind out but I can easily fit a couple fingers in the arm holes and at the neck so they have some wiggle room.Spike: 17 inch chest, 10 inch neck, 11 inch length, 11 lbs.Ricky: 16 inch chest, 11 inch neck, 11 inch length, 9 lbs.

I have a 4.5kg Maltese dog and have such difficulty finding coats that fit and that he wants to wear.I have tried so many but normally they are either tight around the tummy but right on the back, or right on the tummy but too long on the back. I also find some come close to his manly bits and gets wet when he pees. This coat was perfect for him, and surprise surprise he actually wears it and walks in it. The size chart was spot on for us, excellent fit with no gaping arm holes or loose underside material, and the popper at the top helps hold the coat together as you zip up, plus the extra flap under the zip prevents his fur from being trapped in the teeth. The underside cut out shape keeps the coat away from any spray. I have bought another one in the same size.
