"The Last Towel You'll Ever Need"
... That's the tag line in one of the reviews I found for this towel, and they're right.First, if your only criteria for a bath towel are thick, heavy and plush, you probably won't like these. On the other hand if you want a towel that looks terrific, performs as intended and is a pleasure to use, read on.1. Looks terrific: These towels have a relaxed, upscale, minimalist look without being fussy. The colors are slightly muted, organic, nature inspired. Nothing garish here. All the colors would look good together. The soft waffle weave texture contrasts the hard, shiny materials in bathrooms.2. Performs as intended: I believe a bath towel is intended to dry you after a shower or bath. I was surprised by how well these towels do that. I wasn't even what I was looking for that. The waffle weave probably doubles the surface area of the towel.I am puzzled by all the reviews claiming that they're not absorbent, because that is not my experience. One reviewer claims they're not absorbent, and in the next breath talks about the fabric softener she used. As I understand it, dryer sheets and softeners coat the fibers with something that gives the illusion of softness. At the same time, it interferes with the absorbency of the fabric. My neighbor put me onto wool dryer balls (Amazon has them) instead of dryer sheets. They fluff up the clothes, prevent static and don't interfere with absorbency. Wash them in cold water, e-dry them on low and don't use softeners or dryer sheets. See if that makes a difference.3. Pleasure to use: The first time I used them, their lightness and thinness was off-putting. But I got over it quickly because they worked so well. Their lightness actually makes them easier to handle. Schlepping a thick, heavy towel is not required. When I soap up the wash cloth, the soap doesn't get lost deep in terry cloth nap. And I really knew I was getting scrubbed. That was another unexpected pleasure. They wash up nice as described above, and I'm getting very little dryer lint out of them. Because of the stretchiness of waffle weave, folding them was a challenge. I ended up rolling them instead. I fold the bath towel into quarters, and roll it separately. I fold the hand towel lengthwise and roll the folded washcloth inside it. When I stack them on top of the bath towel, I can fit four complete sets on one 22 inch shelf. That's half the space needed for terry cloth towels.I have no intentions to go back to terry cloth.

Dries FAST
Fast drying towel, you AND itself. Super lightweight, but donโt let that fool you as itโs high quality.

Surprise! It is absorbent
This is a surprise! Bought only because the NYT Wirecutter recommended it, and I kept failing to find a good, reasonably priced Egyptian Cotton not-so-plush towel, I never expected to actually be happy with a waffle weave. But I tried it, and thought "that's not exactly terrible," and so sorta kept trying it, and the thing kept drying me. I now admit it's soft, absorbent, drys quickly, and I'm no longer shopping for an alternative bath towel.

Love it!
I love everything about this towel. The absorbency, the drape of it hanging in the shower, the color that lasts, the ease of washing/drying, and the fact that it never smells musty. I was on the fence about the price and only bought one. That said, if this continues to perform as it might net out to be the winner over those that are hard to dry, pill or snag or start to smell musty after a while. I think I'll grab another and keep it as my backup, but I really can't afford to buy for the whole house.

Soft but softness goes away
Very soft!FYI However: Softness goes down significantly after about 30 washes. (I wash this towel every other day).Keep that in mind bc it IS a pricey towel, esp with this consideration!

Great towels but would I recommendโฆ
I personally like the towels and will buy more. However, it is not life changing. It absorbs better and dries faster but the increments are small especially indoors. If you have disposable income then I would recommend buying one to see if you prefer it over normal towels or Turkish towels. Do not buy a full set until you try it. I can see some people preferring another type towel. If you do not have the money to spare then I would recommend a different towel as again it is not life changing. It is an improvement for me but not drastic. I will buy more.

like drying yourself with a very expensive coarse dish rag
not sure what all the fuss about these towels is about. Got them on the recommendation of The NY Times Wirecutter. Wirecutter recs are sometimes dubious, as in this case. These towels are extremely textured. I normally like a textured towel, but the material feels like polyester, not "supima cotton". It's has the texture of a coarse dish rag, and feels like you are running cheap, coarse fabric over yourself. However, it does dry you off pretty quick. You could make it softer by using fabric softener, but then it may not dry as well. Anyhow, way overpriced for the quality, and I really doubt that this is "supima cotton".

Waste of Good Money
I thought that $75 would buy me a wonder towel. Well, it is not even a regular towel, it is a rag. Zero absorbency, rough on the skin, and EXPENSIVE.The good news: my cat likes it, so it is his now.

BEST TOWEL EVER. SO GOOD WE GAVE THEM AS GIFTS!
Most amazing towel ever! Very light, soft and extremely absorbent. Seems to magically wick the water away after a shower or bath it and dries fast. Will never go back to a regular towel again, not even the luxury towels can compete. Would be nice if they had some brighter colors.

Be aware of import fees
These towels are fine, not as absorbent as what I wanted but they are lightweight. I bought two sets of towels and didnโt realize that I would be getting a bill from FedEx a month later for a set of fees as it was shipped from the US. The bill is $31.68 Cdn. It includes GST, a disbursement fee, another GST fee, and a clearance entry fee. I already paid a shipping fee of $5plus dollars and GST and PST. If I had known that each set of towels would be a further $16 in fees I likely would not have bought them.
