I have a couple of these now (along with quite a few other Tapo items now) and they are great for monitoring temperature and (relative) humidity, especially in out-of-the-way places you might want to keep an eye on, such as roof voids, sheds, garages, etc. They're nice and compact with a clean minimal appearance if placing somewhere visible, come with a range of mounting options (adhesive, magnet, hanging loop), and they log data to the app on your phone, which can also be exported and downloaded. Just note that they aren't standalone and require a Tapo Hub, but that's usually ~£17 on here for the basic hub, and they seem have a good range for distance from the hub. Can be used just for monitoring, or can easily link to automatically trigger heating, dehumidifiers, etc if desired.

These are a replacement for some old sensors I have. I’m moving everything over to Tapo. These are of great quality and pretty accurate. They were on sale at the time so affordable. Setup was straightforward and took less than a couple of minutes. I added them to the hub which was very quick and painless. As soon as these are on offer again I’ll purchase more. 100% recommend.

Bought this sensor on spec as I already had a Tapo hub connecting my light switches. It took a long time to arrive but I'm happy so far. Two shaped magnets are provided which can be stuck onto the back of the unit for mounting on ferromagnetic surfaces or you can attach the sticky pads instead for other types of surface or hang it up from its lanyard. The device is extremely light allowing very flexible placement. The blurb on Amazon claims it updates every 2 seconds. However the graphs and downloaded CSV files I'm getting from the Tapo app suggest that it is logging at no faster than once every fifteen minutes. I've not yet determined the frequency at which it is transmitting but given the small battery then even using the low-power radio link to the hub would flatten it if it were transmitting too often. The device is not suitable for outdoor or in-freezer mounting unless it is protected by a waterproof enclosure but this of course will impair the humidity function.. (I use the smallest in the Ikea Istad double-seal food bags for such purposes.) As of 2023-08-02, I'm pleased to report that the integration with Google Home exposes both the temperature and humidity function. The Alexa integration only shows the temperature.

Very handy for my outside office

I have an old house with no central heating and I am dependent on electric heaters for most of the rooms. I now have 3 sensors to keep an eye on the less used rooms in the house. Using smart actions, I can set up things so that electric heaters turn on/off according to temperature. As the sensors are some distance from the heaters, this is a lot more accurate than depending on the heater thermostats. It is possible to decide which time periods the actions apply to - great if you are able to make use of off-peak electricity. Each sensor can trigger multiple actions and I have actions in place to shut off heaters if a room ever gets too warm - handy if you have kids who crank up the temperature. I also control a dehumidifier to make sure that books and my daughters art work are protected from humidity. They are a doddle to set up & connect to the hub. TP-link now lets you control Kasa plugs as well. I will update this review if things go astray later - but so far couldn’t be happier.

Excellent sensor, it is so efficient I actually ordered another one for a different room. Constant data feed for regular information. For the cost it’s insanely good. Already had the hub, so was able to set up the sensor in less than 2 minutes; very easy. Connects easily to the hub.
