Great small camera
This camera is almost unnoticeable in my handbag, due to its small size. The photos are sharp and clear. I've not yet put it through all its paces, but as a point and shoot it is excellent.

Absolutely shocking in low light!
I decided to buy this budget 'point and shoot' camera because I like the simplicity of these type of cameras and Canon is a well respected brand in the camera market. To cut a long story short, I'm shocked at the plethora of glowing reviews on other sites for the IXUS 177. In low light, meaning photos taken indoors of an evening the photo quality was shockingly bad!The photos I took looked fine on the LCD Display but when transferred to my computer the quality was extremely poor. Every single photo had loads of noise (distortion) and was blurred and pixelated when zooming in to the full sized image. My 7 year old Panasonic Lumix FS30 is vastly superior with regards photo quality in low light.Every single photo I took indoors of an evening was unusable. This camera maybe ideal in perfect light settings but if you plan to use of an evening or in any low light context such as a night out I would strongly suggest you avoid buying otherwise you will likely regret it.
