MPS Medical Pet Shirt Cat, Surgery Recovery Suit, Red, X-Small

This is definitely the best post-surgery vest you can find on the market. We had this two years ago for our second cat’s spay, it was purchased directly through our vet! Amazing product. Unfortunately, our vet has stopped supplying them now that we’ve had our third cat spayed. I looked up the vest on veterinarian websites and then located it on Amazon - it’s the real product!Our cat was spayed yesterday. We originally put her in a cheap pink surgery vest off of Amazon that a friend had lent us. In the other vest, she was so unhappy, the fit was poor, she was struggling to walk and falling over. She kept meowing and yowling and was just miserable. I quickly went online and found this one.First of all, the fastenings are so much better. This has two holes for the front limbs, but the back ones don’t have leg holes. The popper fastenings can be adjusted around their back limbs. It also means that if necessary, you can leave the fastenings undone and the vest still covers the wound!In comparison - the cheap pink one had only leg holes and fastened with Velcro at the top, the holes for the back legs made it hard for her to move. Whereas, she can move around so much better in this product. Shes no longer walking like she’s been impaled and seems much brighter in herself, the mobility is amazing for the size.She was clearly uncomfortable in the cheap one, but the quality different for this product is amazing. It’s clearly superior. The fabric is soft and stretchy, yet clearly strong and well made. It’s also very breathable and less trapping. The colour is bright and the overall detailing and composure is attractive.Another point is the neck hole. In this one, the neck hole has a turtle neck, that can be rolled outwards to extend to cover more or less of the neck, allowing it to be flexibly adjusted for comfort. In comparison, the cheap pink Amazon one seemed to pull uncomfortably at the base of her neck and stretch when she laid down.The fit of this one overall is so much more built to your cats body. It looks like she’s wearing cosy pyjamas that fit her snugly but not tight. The fabric is not stretched at any point, meaning it’s not putting pressure on any areas (in comparison, the cheap one clearly stretched a lot around the legs and neck when changing position and was uncomfortable looking).I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a post surgery vest for their cat. Veterinarians use it too. If we get another cat, we’ll either be using this one - or buying it again (if we lose it like we lost the last one) because it clearly helps them post surgery to be more comfortable, and when you’ve had major surgery the last thing you want is an uncomfortably garment stretching and pulling at your fur.It’s also a reasonable price in my opinion. For the high quality product, £15-20 is a great price to pay, and I would probably have paid more. The cheap, bad quality one was only around £5-£10 cheaper (depending on the size and type), and the different in comfort and happiness to my cat is clearly astounding.

Photo three to show the start of her issue, it got far worseAfter an awful injury our cat was put onto an oral painkiller for a week. This causes her to severely itch which lead to her over grooming. It started with bald patches but quickly led to her licking at her skin till it was raw! I tried so many versions of these cat suits but they all attached with Velcro and my tiny little girl just worked her way out of them! I then found this suit, I took the smallest size they had as she is tiny! You can see in the one photo she is sitting next to her now grown kitten, she is really small so wiggles out of everything. This suit however has not come off and not opened! It fits her like a glove and she can now not lick at her torso so it will give her skin a chance to heal and her hair a chance to grow back! It’s easy to open and roll up so I can do little salt water wipes if and when needed. I can not recommend this suit enough even Willow has now got used to it after only 2 days. My only wish is I’d found it sooner and that there was an Amazon prime next day delivery option10/10 from me

My 5 month old Maine Coon kitten had complications after her neutering surgery and this is the medical shirt the vet had put on her leaving the practice. She tried to take it off on the first night but very quickly got used to it. I was so impressed I immediately bought one so I’d have a change for her. The poppers are so much better than Velcro and leaves her rear end free for using the litter tray. The material is nice and soft. It’s stretchy enough to allow her to move but provides plenty of support at the same time. The arm and leg cuffs are soft and don’t cut into her. There is a little pouch in the belly where a surgical pad can be placed in case of discharge or bleeding post surgery. It’s been a lifesaver for me as she can’t get at the wound and even better her brother can’t either as they groom each other. Sizing is as per the table so measure your cat correctly to get the right fit.I would highly recommend this medical t-shirt. Only slight negative is the label and the little loops on the inside of the neck which I had to cut off as they were irritating her.

I ordered the Pet Shirt after my cat had reacted badly to the buster collar the vet supplied, following a hernia operation.My only complaint is that the actual size is difficult to make sense of. There is nothing to say which is length or a chest measurement or what.. The 1.8 cm still remains a mystery. I checked the same product with a different website, which told me there are two 'cat' sizes and two 'kitten' sizes. So I picked the smaller cat size.(XS). (She is three years old, weighs 4 kg and is certainly not a kitten). This turned out to be too large, and she escaped from it twice!I could not wait for an exchange, as she was already chewing at the wound, so I altered it myself. Since then it has been fine. It stops her from touching the wound, keeps the ares clean and does not inhibit her movement. I wish I had known about it before and will definitely use it again if I should need to. Only the sizing information let it down. Otherwise I would have rated it a five.

I'm giving this 5 stars although my cat would give a lower rating. I think this was a good buy. It's good quality and serves the purpose. It's well worth the money. The reason I bought it was because after getting a kitten as a companion for my cat Sammy a Bromance developed. He and Marley are utterly in love with each other. They go everywhere together. 24/7 they are either snuggling, play fighting, sitting together, calling for each other or grooming each other But this is where the problem lies. Sammy is obsessed with licking Marley to the point of leaving raw patches on his skin and every time they started to heal and scab over he would lick it raw again. I had to bandage him up to protect his skin but he felt restricted so decided to get him some kind of T-shirt then I came across the Medical jacket. It worked well and Marley began to heal. He wasn't too impressed having to wear this at first but dud get used to it but unfortunately Sammy then started to obsess with the top of his head so I had to make protective head wear out of tights with holes for his ears and face. Marley just encourages Sammy to lick him raw. He is also obsessed with licking Sammy. The jacket fits both of them and is not restrictive and will certainly come in handy if they ever have stitches or get skin complaints. It is good because even when done up they can still freely go to the toilet. I chose to roll it up like a little T shirt to give him more feeling of freedom. A worthwhile buy should something like this be needed for your cat.

The suit is fine and works well (well with adaption as my cat wouldn't tolerate the piece between his back legs but rocked it as a 'crop top'. Check the size you require carefully though as I bought small (my cat is small 😶) but it was too small and I couldn't return it so had to purchase another one in a larger size as I needed it 'urgently'

Our female kitten is six months old, 2.6kg and got spayed/microchipped so we needed to stop her licking the surgery site. The suit fit her really well in an XXS (the size our vet nurse advised we get). She hated the cone a lot so I’m really glad we got this, but she became quite depressed with it on. We bought this for the day after her surgery because she hated the cone and pulled it off multiple times.Despite being able to move normally and do everything she can much easier than the cone (toilet, eat, groom her face and legs) she tends to become very immobile, sleep a lot and she doesn’t complain when we pick her up (normally she hates this). But she would be much worse off if she was able to lick her wound and it got infected. So we did it out of love you know.Basically your cat won’t enjoy this but it keeps them safe, it covers a female spay wound, and still allows them mobility (even if they refuse to use it out of a belief that they are disabled forever). It can be upsetting seeing your cat sad/stressed but the cone was 1000% worse - I’m sure If I was able to give her a choice between cone and this she would pick this. The material is good quality, rhe popper fastenings on the butt end are easy to use for humans but not so much for cats. It was a very worthwhile purchase from a reputable brand and I’m hoping she gets a bit more used to it, but have to accept we are doing this for her own good.

I’ve had more of these than I can count. Our cat has to wear then permanently due to a severe burn and scaring when rescued. This suit is the best one we’ve tried. We must have easily brought 10 over the last 7 months. Our cat is a sod and makes holes in the material but the suit will generally last us anywhere from 3-6 weeks. We’ve used them in the past for other cats and they been great no issues. They are the more expensive side but worth it.

Unsere Fleur wurde Ende letzten Jahres am Rücken operiert (Fibrosarkom). Bereits von unserem Tierarzt haben wir 2 Bodys dieser Marke bekommen.Damit wir sie regelmäßig wechseln und waschen können und der Verschluss nicht auf der Narbe sitzt haben wir gezielt Bodys gesucht wo der Verschluss weder am Rücken noch am Bauch (findet sie unangenehm) ist und sind daher bei dieser Marke geblieben. Die meisten Bodys lassen sich ja leider am Rücken schließen, das kam für uns also nicht in Frage.Wir sind zufrieden und unsere Katze ist es auch, sie kann sich relativ frei bewegen, auf den Kratzbaum oder auf die Fensterbank springen, sich strecken, Toilettengang und Futtern klappt auch sehr gut.Der Stoff ist angenehm und Maschinenwaschbar.Man sollte lediglich etwas aufpassen und ihn separat waschen da die rote Farbe stark ausfärbt beim Waschen, konnte jedoch nicht feststellen das er ausbleicht.
