Review: Extremely comfortable but heavy! - This is definitely the most comfortable sleeping pad I’ve slept on. It is almost as comfortable as my mattress at home. The one big caveat is that it is extremely heavy and takes a up a lot of car space. If I could choose again, I’d pick the regular size over the wide. I’ve used other Hest products and their prices can be a little steep, but the quality and durability are always top notch.
Review: Hip bottoms out on the pad, hard to find the right air mattress pressure, good when you do - I had tried the 25" wide pad only. It was great except as a side sleeper my hip bottomed out when sleeping on my side (5'10" and 157 lbs). So I ordered this. I have played with the air in it and haven't found an easy way to find that sweet spot between too hard and too soft. I finally found a good pressure, the pump doesn't have enough marks on it to find it easily again so I put a magic marker mark on it (might scratch it in if this remains comfortable) It is well made, I doubt the air mattress will get a leak as it is made of very thick material. The valve for it is between the pad and the mattress which is sort of a pain to get at but will protect it. The foam doesn't dissipate body heat which means depending on how hot/cold it is out side it makes it a good thing or a not so good thing. I'd suggest a thin gel heat dissipating pad on top if you are car camping in the heat of the summer (they'd be smart to put that on one side, then you could pull the mattress out of the cover and decide which side you want up). Also hard to put the identical amount of air in the air mattress with each use as the pump doesn't have enough "marks" on the dial to really pin point what works. When you find the right air mattress pressure this is very comfortable. It might take some work to do so.

A: Start with a tight initial roll, use your knee to compress as you go, and take your time- it takes a moment for the air to escape the foam. When fully rolled, reattach clips & tighten integrated compression harness by cinching straps.

I had tried the 25" wide pad only. It was great except as a side sleeper my hip bottomed out when sleeping on my side (5'10" and 157 lbs). So I ordered this. I have played with the air in it and haven't found an easy way to find that sweet spot between too hard and too soft. I finally found a good pressure, the pump doesn't have enough marks on it to find it easily again so I put a magic marker mark on it (might scratch it in if this remains comfortable) It is well made, I doubt the air mattress will get a leak as it is made of very thick material. Considering high end mattresses for our home and multiple custom solutions for our boat, this sleep system is the most comfortable I've slept on ever. It's perfect for long term sleeping in a boat (or rv probably) because it is durable and can handle all kinds of environmental conditions. We bought two and put them together, which works like a sleep number bed (my 2nd favorite bed of all time.) My husband is 6'-2" 240# and is as comfortable as I am at 5'4" 155#. It's been over 6 months of nightly use and they haven't deflated at all. Awesome product. (They are quite heavy so using then stowing is probably really sweaty work!)
