Mcbazel Surecom SW-102 Digital VHF/UHF 125-525Mhz Antenna Power & SWR meter

I was looking for a small, light, power meter covering 2m and 70cm for use at a portable station, to check the antenna and to set output power. This unit fits the bill very well. It is of very good build quality (exceeding my expectations, to be honest) and works flawlessly. The power measurements agree well with other meters, better than 5%, across of a range of levels and on both 144 and 432 MHz. I like how the most recent measurement stays on screen after the RF is switched off, useful if the meter isn't easily visible from the operating position. The frequency counter is a bonus, although I don't think I will make much use of this. It is accurate to all 6 displayed digits (i.e. better than 1 kHz). An interesting feature is the ability, via the menu, to adjust the calibration of power and frequency measurements, although this does not appear to be necessary. The use of N-type sockets instead of the cheap SO239 types should help to minimize the impact of having the unit inline, particularly at 70cm. I couldn't measure the insertion loss, but even though the spec says it is low, I will probably not leave the unit in line once measurements are made, as every 0.1 dB of loss in the antenna feed adds to the noise figure of the receive system. Overall, a very effective unit, ideal for compact portable station use, and good value for money.

Purchased this to go in my /P kit as it offered a compact solution. Item arrived next day from Amazon so full marks so far. Brief initial tests were conducted with the meter as received, on known VHF and UHF aerials and also on a dummy load. I would echo other reviewers comments in regard to display size, however as a spectacle wearer I had no major problem reading the info. The SWR readings compared with previous tests on my analyser were within tolerance and acceptable. Power readings were all tested at various QRP levels with a dummy load and gave a reasonable guide to rig output. Readings from the forward and reflected power can be manually tweaked through the software as can the frequency displayed. My unit was supplied with a euro 2pin 1 amp charger as well as a UK type charger, and two N' type plug to SO-239 adaptor plugs. All in all this should serve my requirement very well and while it is certainly not Lab quality spec it is not a Lab quality price! As for durability, that remains to be seen, but unit is manufactured in a robust metal case which looks like it will standup well to normal usage. Hope this helps with your purchase decision.

I was a little hesitant buying this as there are several versions of the SW-102, and some with some inaccurate VSWR calculations, I believe. The product listing doesn't make it clear as to what you're getting. However, I went for it and am very pleased so far. Delivery was fast (2 days, with my Prime membership). Packaging is good and professional (see photo). Tester itself looks well made. Included in the box are (again, see photo): the tester itself (which has N type connectors), 2 x N Type to PL259 adapters, a (very!) short micro USB power cable, a 2-pin European power adapter and a 3-pin UK power adapter. On powering on the device, it's showing as v2.07 which is the later 'generation' and must be one of the latest, if not THE latest, version. Superb! Go to the official SureCom website to see more info on the versions. Basically v2.xx is the latest generation, with vx.x (incl. v3.3, v3.5, v3.6, v4.5 & v5.1) being older. Also reassuring is the listing as a "Gam3Gear Surecom SW-102” as Gam3Gear is the official European distributor for SureCom. Also worth noting is the actual Amazon supplier in my case - Nature Elite - are NOT VAT registered. I'm yet to actually use the device for testing: that's next week. I'll aim to update this review after that.

Seems to do what it says on the box. Display dim, cluttered and lacking contrast. Certainly showed my antenna problem. Doubt if it's super accurate but for the price it's great for most day to day and troubleshooting applications.

Excellent little SWR / power / frequency meter. Very well built (feels solid, very little plastic, metal case) and very easy to use. I had been suspicious that the baofeng UV-5R I have isn't actually 8w and this confirmed it. I had also suspected that the long whip antenna I purchased wasn't working that well on 2m and it also confirmed this!

今まで使っていたSWR計の調子が悪くなってきたので、安価だったこともあって購入しました。 ピークホールド式で送信出力、反射電力、SWR値、周波数カウンター、送信効率が切り替えなしで１画面で見れます。 またバッテリー内蔵でバックライトも付いているので、車両に設置した無線機のちょっとした測定には便利です。 測定器はN型接栓ですが、M(UHF)型への変換コネクタが2個付いているのもうれしい点です。 高出力の測定時に測定間隔に合わせてバックライトが一瞬暗くなる挙動がでる時がありますが、気にしなければ良いレベルです。 無線機の出力やSWRを測定したいけど、値段がちょっとな〜・・・ という方にはおすすめできると思います。 2020/04/09 追記 このSWR計について検索してみたら、一部のファームウェアバージョンでVSWRの計算式にあるルート（平方根）が抜けているバグがあるらしいです。 今回購入した(2020年1月)個体はファームウェア2.06で、表示されている進行波と反射波から自分で計算しても正規のVSWR値が表示されていました。 ロットによってはバグありが混じってる可能性もありますが、届いた商品はバグなしで安心しました。

Op zoek naar een swr meter die geschikt is voor 440 MHz kwam ik dit meetapparaatje tegen. Het combineert een automatische digitale swr meter met een vermogensmeter en een frequentieteller. Instellen gaat helemaal automatisch waarbij heel overzichtelijk tegelijk de frequentie, het geleverde vermogen en het gereflecteerde vermogen in Watt en percentage alsmede de SWR verhouding in het scherm verschijnt. Kortom, een handig en stevig apparaatje dat is uitgerust met N-connectoren waarbij de verlooppluggen naar pl-259 meegeleverd worden.
