Amazingly beautiful poetry
If you are a spiritual seeker and you've never met Rumi before now is you time. He is the greatest spiritual poet. I knew nothing about Sufism before I read his work but knew that he had connected with the Beloved. Lovely poetry which will sit in yoyr heart amd mind forever

The Masnavi I Manavi of Rumi
I am very happy with the translation, makes such complex spiritual experience to be understood.I found it fascinating how he begins a story, then moves on to a story within that story, and again moves to another within that one. Through this composition style, the poet’s personal voice comes through to his audience. It is truly wonderful.

Engrossing!
I'm still working my way through this long book but find it fascinating. So far it's a wonderful mixture of the Song of Solomon, Aesop's Fables and mysticism. It's one to keep and needs careful reading.

Definitely not the Masnavi in any way or form
Very poorly translated and essentially inchoate in many parts thanks to weak editing. A jumble of words with very little of the essential light of Rumi to be found. The English is both arch and archaic and does little justice to the music of the Farsi. One must keep looking.

Disappointing format
Strictly format-wise, this edition is a disappointment. Who wants to read from an A4-sized book?!

I don't think we are worth judging Maulana Rumi's work

Very Disappointing!!
Translation is very bad. Several spelling mistakes. I was very excited to read the book, but poor translation makes it very difficult to understand. Those who wants to buy think before twice.

A Book Written By A Perfect Master! How Cool Is That?
So, why am I adding my voice to the innumerable voices praising this incredible historical, literary figure? Because, as a follower of Avater Meher Baba it is my belief that this person, at the time of writing this and other of the extant works attributed to Him, was a Perfect Master. So There! Not much to back up my personal claim of knowing too much about what that implies aside from 'God Speaks', 'Stay With God', 'In Dust i Sing' and the several biographies on the life of Meher Baba. The Mathnawi, in its English translation, is a rambling, delightful, inspiring, sometimes disconcerting, masterpiece of spiritual instruction. One could do much worse than pick up a copy and become absorbed in the interweaving tales and lessons. By Perfect Master, His name is numbered among the ranks of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Cathering of Sienna, St. Theresa of Avila, St. Augustine of Hippo, Mirabai of Rajputana, Tukaram, Ramdas, Kabir, the Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikhs and all the successors found in the Guru Granth Sahib, Sai Baba of Shirdi, Hazrat Babajan, Upasni Maharaj, Tajuddin Baba, Narayan Maharaj and of course Hafiz of Shiraz. There are five Perfect Masters known to the world at any one time, so the list is much larger but these have left sayings, books, poems, songs, and indelible memories after their passing. (are any who are living known? Beware of imitations!).
