DO NOT LET THE LOW RATINGS MAKE UP YOUR MIND, IT DEPENDS WHOLLY ON THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE ASWELL AS YOUR EDUCATION AS TO WHETHER OR NOT YOU WOULD LIKE FIFTY SHADES.**The way this book is written puts a lot of people off which to me is silly, it's about the story and Fifty Shades is undeniably a great story....You must read the trilogy though or else you won't get the full story!!...Reading just one of the books is basically just reading a third of a book, you arent getting the full story, you couldn't say "oh the story is rubbish, there isn't one" if you read just a third of a normal book, this is how the Fifty Shades trilogy reads!**...Highly Relatable, Deep and Fun. If you enjoy dry humour you will find this book hilarious. Given names such as TwiPorn/Twilight Fanfic/Mummy Porn, none of which do any justice and are quite frankly awful, yes there are quite a few similarities to Twilight but they are tiny, nowhere near enough to call Fifty Shades Twilight Fan-Fiction and "Mummy Porn"?! what a horrific title, that would have put me off reading Fifty Shades somewhat had I not already started reading it, and honestly Mummy Porn really is ridiculous, of all the great words of wisdom on the book, that is the best the readers come up with?! For one, the story is about two young adults finding their way, (particularly the much more troubled Christian who has had a long battle with himself and everyone else around him and has a long way to recovery) so for the same reasons should relate mostly to this younger audience, the younger couples even and "Porn" is a very trashy word and this book couldn't be further from it, although is has fairly explicit material at times, the sex is only half of the story, if that and completely tasteful, even more tasteful, romantic and much more deep as the books go on.I can't get my head out of the story, struggling to find a book to read that will satisfy as much as the Fifty Shades do, the second book is even better, much better flow, I was unable to put that one down at all, number three was much slower going that either of the first two books but still highly enjoyable, I went from Fifty Shades 1 to 2 to 3 in lightening speed they're that good! Bought Fifty Shades of Grey book in passing given just how massively popular they are and as soon as I found out how much I loved it I bought Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed immediately on Kindle to read after the first book ASAP one after the other.As said above, it's about a very difficult man who has many personal struggles and he finds a girl who also has her own personal demons, the very relatable problems of self doubt, the lack of faith in one's self to do well and the feeling of being unworthy and inferior but she is a strong stubborn young woman who in some way, that even she doesn't know at first, completely understands him in some way and her strong, clever, stubborn, reserved taciturn and beautiful down-to-earth personality, with a little persistence on her part, charms and calms him, opening him up and therefore helping and healing him, she is the one person who can guide him into the light and bring him out of the dark once and for all.

I have read several of the reviews on here that rated this zero and described it as rubbish and poorly written etc.The most stars I could rate was 5 and this book, in my opinion, is worth every one of them.I think that most of the reviewers failed to see that this is written as Anastasia's memories, like a diary. The diary of a twentyone year old. The descriptions she gives of how she feels about herself, Christian, Kate and the world around her and how she looks on the world are, in my opinion, how a twentyone year old virgin would feel.Probably many people find that incredible that she starts off as a virgin of twentyone as they are probably quite rare these days. She tells how she has never been interested in boys, and no one has ever caught her attention or interested her in a sexual way.But then she meets Christian Grey and Pow, suddenly finds herself caught up by his magnetic character and she gets a real buzz from touching him. Their handshake gives her an electrifying feeling and suddenly she wants to be with him, in every sense of the word and is totally turned on by him. She realises she will have to do anything he asks to be with him as he tells her he "doesn't do hearts and flowers" and cannot have a normal relationship with her, leaving her full of self doubt and playing on her insecurities.However he becomes smitten with her and finds himself preoccupied with her and wanting her to the extent that he realises he has to make some changes to his usual way of living or not get to be with her.It is the meeting of these two people, one an innocent virgin and the other an extremely experienced control freak who is into bondage and sadomasochism, and their love story, that this book is about.The descriptions of the various sex acts that take place between are very well thought out by the writer and to my mind exactly how a young girl would be thinking about what is happening to her and her body. I think the sex scenes are very horny and would probably be very useful as a sex manual.As for being described as "Mommy porn", I can only say that I think this is an excellent Love Story with very descriptive sex scenes. I cannot wait to read the next book. I did not think it overly pornographic or smutty for it's own sake. Everything is in context to the story.
