Attack on Titan Part 1
Attack on Titan Parts 1 & 2 The live action movie..... These have got a bad rep from the masses of fans that have lived on the animated TV Show since 2013. However I like it and think it sits well as a re-mkae of the anime show. I thought it was fun, well acted and well animated. Worth a watch if you are a fan of the show.

Amazing film.... Keeps you hooked to the end
Brilliant film. I wanted to watch this as soon as it came out so I was happy when I received it as a gift!! The film itself is brilliant. A good storyline with some great effects. Good acting and keeps you hooked until the end. This movie is a two parter so be sure to buy both 1 & 2, worth every penny!!!

A live action version not a re-make of the original
This was an enjoyable, yet slightly flawed, live action version of Attack on Titan. While there are a few plot holes, it captures the spirt of the original and presents it well in a live action film. It is not a direct remake of the original, as if I am going to be honest, that probably would have been too difficult to do. (Lets not forget the live action version of the Fist of the North Star and others...)The action is very good and the battle scenes capture the concepts of the original. There are some direct parallels with the original as well which add to the feeling. It is not as good as the original I will admit that, but it is worth a look. It was a tough call on the score, I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. I think the final 20 mins were good enough to push it to a 4.Roll on part 2!

Its not 'the' Attack on Titan, but it's still Huge!
It looks and sounds great but it is not a live action version of the anime tale! It is more a retold story with many similar themes and characters but not necessarily in the same way as the anime. The time setting seems different as they travel by truck not horse, but then filming the anime may have been too high a budget!Effects are very good in HD and the titans well designed, some recognisable from the anime! ODM gear flying is also realistically handled and I was impressed overall.Standout moment is when Eren’s abnormal appears and resembles the anime version to a thrilling “T”!Darker and more modern than the anime but I think it stands on its own huge feet!Having a part one and part two is a little annoying budget wise!

Awesome film, marred by mediocre release.
There seem to be a two camps with regard to the Attack On Titan live action movie: those who adore the original anime series are disappointed and annoyed that the laws of the universe couldn't be bent to condense 25 hours of animation into a couple of 90 minute films, and those who appreciate this for what it is: a live action interpretation of the Attack on Titan story arc with its themes and set-pieces. And in that, these two films are an awesome success. And far more than simply being a nice adaptation, the live action edition, in realising the story with real people and effects, offers something the anime series can't - a genuine tangible sense of empathy, and horror. Taking the same aesthetics and designs as the lumbering manga giants, the titans in the movie are nothing short of terrifying in their child-like indifference, unnerving appearance, and unflinching brutality. It's truly the stuff of nightmares. I defy you to watch the very first wall sequence without at least a few hairs standing up on your neck. The film itself I'd easily give four stars, but this blu-ray release, only really deserves a three. Picture quality is superb, in fact very hard to fault, detail is immense, colour and blacks perfect representation of the intended cinematography, but the sound is just a little bit too lazy and wimpy for my liking, especially given that this is an "event" movie. Don't get me wrong, the 5.1 DTS-HD is perfectly adequate, but I just felt it really could have done with being a little more dynamic in the punchier places, and utilised the sound field better to create a greater sense of immersion. There's not much bottom end to it either. Not sure if this is an up-mix from 2.1, but it kind of feels that way a lot of the time. The second major down-point is that there's ZERO special features. Not even the English dub. No bonus episode of the anime, no making of, not even the trailer. That's exceptionally poor, especially given the price of this release! I hear that Madman have the Australian rights to this, so am hoping that they can put out something better. That said, this is certainly a nice release of the film, but it's just that. The film.

Good effort but perhaps too much to live up to?
I am really conflicted on this one because I feel it is inferior to the anime in most if not all aspects however I realise with the limitations of live action (even with CGI) this is a good effort that I enjoyed but having seen the anime I suppose it was always going to disappoint in some respects I have tried not to be too harsh due to this and on a second viewing learnt to appreciate it more and have also got the second half preordered. The biggest positive for fans is it retains a lot of the themes that make up the core viewing experience and does well to engage my emotions at least on occasion

Another Nippon Goodie
VERY unique movie and was overly happy to see Amazon located a Market-Place seller that carried parts 1 & 2 on one holder, and they were USA region playable and English subtitled. Check out the trailers on YouTube to get a feel for this - best way to decide if you'd like it......one comment, the best is part 1 as to dark and gruesome action. Part 2 - focuses more on the GIANT Titan like you see on the cover or similar and is not as monster-action packed as the 1st disc, but you learn the origin of the Titans and some good heavy plot twists towards what I felt was a solid ending. NO real way to say much here w/out bad spoilers - but the trailers on YouTube are REAL good for letting you know what the movie is like.

I loved both parts of this movie
I loved both parts of this movie. Although some of the characters were a little different, all in all it didn't affect it too much. I just wish the female Titan was there instead of his fellow male fighter. Those who follow the anime stories know what I'm talking about.

Loved it but.......
My boyfriend and I watching these movies at the theater and greatly enjoyed them. While they aren't quite like the Anime, it at times we found to be very comical and like this version of things. When I saw they offered both dvds in a pack, I decided to order it and surprise my boyfriend with it .The dvds came very well wrapped and neatly packaged. We didn't find a problem with that. However I will note the first DVD sits on top of the second DVD so it isn't protected and if you want to see the second, you have to remove the first. We didn't find this a problem, but for those who might, I figured I'd leave a note. Now both dvds did play, but the issue we encountered was the subtitles on the second DVD were not an accurate translation. I've taken classes in Japanese and while I'm not fluent enough to watch the entire movie as is, I can tell you these aren't accurate. Some times the sentences were not formed correctly, but the words were right, and that is fine. (e.g. Brown is dog)But there were long words of complete gibberish throughout the movie and many of the sentances were gibberish. It was as if someone took the Japanese subtitles and just ran them through Google Translate. So for those who don't understand Japanese, and have never seen this movie, I do not recommend this DVD set.

Look out for Titans!
I loved the anime even though this live action veers away from it a little bit. Quality is pretty good and the acting is not bad either. For true fans, you may have mixed feelings because of the story line which I can understand but nevertheless, it's still a good movie.
