Disney & Pixar's The Good Dinosaur [Blu-ray] [2015]

This visually stunning movie is one of our most beloved Disney films. Our children watched it over and over again from the age of 4 and it triggered a long lasting dinosaur fascination with our our son, several years later he is quite an expert in the field. To my surprise the Good Dinosaur only god mixed reviews when it was released. Probably because the many Pixar fans didn’t appreciate a movie that was primarily aimed at children and told from a children’s perspective. Quite a shame, since first of all it might incorrectly urge Disney to place its bets on the umpteenth standard princess movie rather than explore new themes and characters. Secondly, this is simply a brilliant, beautiful little story that has lots of emotion and fun in it. Yes there is loss, as one of Arlo’s parent dies. And this is what a lot of the puritan age-recommended sites and reviews struggle with. But come on.. life is about loss and there is a good chance young children in their family or in their surrounding experience loss, if you chose to shield them from that you’ll set them up for bigger trauma in later life. I think Disney handled this very well, perhaps even better than in Dumbo, The Lion King or Up. The straight forward storyline is about a clumsy, frightened apatosaurus Arlo that gets separated from his family. An incredibly funny growling cave-boy helps him to find his way back home. During their journey they run into a range of dinosaurs and they have to face a series of challenges - it’s almost a pre-historic on-the-road movie. The obligatory messages are there as well. This time there is a whole range as its about loss, overcoming fears, tolerance, friendship, and perseverance. Even so it remains an excellent movie that we all enjoyed greatly while watching with our young children. We bought the movie in its 3D version as we have very good equipment to play that. And our children are quite used to wearing the glasses. The movie is even more immersive and beautiful in 3D but a regular Blu ray version is included in the set as well.

Seen this last year in the cinemas with my younger brother and my mom and we all enjoyed it. I cried and laughed at this film. I was always a massive fan of animated films since animation is my favourite genre of all time followed by romantic comedies. If you are a fan of Pixar and disney then check it out. The story is about a dinosaur who isn't the bravest dinosaur around and as he faces a tragedy in his life he later meets a Tarzan like boy called Spot and together the two go off on an adventure to find Spot's family. Thumbs up as I got this with Spotlght 2 days ago. I have yet to see this on DVD as I seen it in the cinemas last year. Great price. Thanks Amazon

Arlo is a sweet, farming (yep, he comes from a farming family) dinosaur who sets off on an adventure with his father to find the creature that is stealing their supplies. Of course, daddy dino dies and Arlo is left on his own to find his way back home. He meets up with a Neanderthal child whom he names 'Spot' and they two of them embark on an adventure to find Arlo's family again, also finding one for Spot along the way. Some charming characters and my 5 and 7 year old enjoyed it but it didn't captivate them as much as other Disney/Pixar films. Some interesting characters such as the animal collector but whilst they are shown prominently on the blurb about the film, they barely feature, which is odd. Typical overcoming diversity film which may suit younger children more.

This is one of my favourite pixar films, and deserves as many stars as I can give it. The animation quality is phenomenal and should be watched for that alone, however the plot itself while slightly cliched is fun and silly, and has a great premise of 'What if the astroid had missed'. The film has the tradition boy and his dog feel, if the boy was a dinosaur and his dog a human, but also deals with some very grown up ideas such as loss, friendships, and making your mark on the world (literally). I'm incredibly saddened by the number of bad reviews it's gotten (mostly from Christians who didn't like the premise, or thought it was too adult), but I hope that anyone who buys it will see what a true masterpiece it is.

It came super quick & the money is worth it. Sounds crazy I'm happy to pay more for this film, as its a film that doesnt get annoying after watching it Several times. And theres a meaning behind the film especially on friendship & accepting others This is the only film I could never get bored from. I Wasnt sure whether I would like this film at first but thanks to my niece i got into it My nieces both love this film, my older niece had it on repay when it first came out. Its a nice family/kids film to watch

Ich habe mir die folgende DVD gekauft, da ich besonders auf den englischen Titel bestand und die DVD auch auf englisch schauen wollte. Die DVD lässt sich problemlos in meinem deutschen DVD Player abspielen (viele meiner Freunde hatten dabei bedenken). Der Film ist in englisch wie auch in deutsch einstellbar. Vielen Dank für die problemlose und nette Beratung und Lieferung! :)

bella storia, ma lascia perplessi la visione dell uomo che deriva dal cane; si poteva fare uno sforzo e pensare a qualche tipo di morale o messaggio che almeno giustificasse questa bizarra scelta. Non lo suggerirei come regalo proprio xche di disegni animati carini ce ne sono a bizzeffe con qualche tipo di logica e ragionamento in piu.
