Bought these for my new Risa ST ukulele after the low G string unwound after only a couple of weeks use and during the first song of a gig. I searched the internet for Risa steel strings to replace but found that they were only available from Germany at a price after paying postage of over £20! A further search of the internet yielded advice to use the middle 4 strings from a set of 10 gauge guitar strings. Having used D’Addario strings before, I chose these because of their reasonable price and my satisfaction with previous strings from this company. The strings have transformed my ST. As I said, the original strings on my ST, besides seeming to break quickly, were difficult to tune and refused to stay in tune for longer than one song.After fitting the D’Addario set, I found that part of the problem was that the original strings were not sitting on the ‘0’ fret that the ST has. The 2-3 millimetre gap between the nut and the ‘0’ fret was enough to make the string go out of tune once fingered chords were used. I widened the string gaps in the nut with a small nail file, made sure that all 4 strings were sitting fully on the ‘0’ fret and the transformation was complete. Not only did they stay in tune, but the sound was instantly transformed, being much cleaner and brighter.After a couple of weeks use, the strings are still sounding great and I would thoroughly recommend these strings.

For uncoated strings they're decent and last a while but still prefer coated as they last and sound better for much longer. But d'addario strings are decent and good quality strings that I always seem to come back to out of all the other brands!

Gotta love daddario strings, use them on all my guitars

Good strings, especially if you are an expressive guitarist but if you are looking for something more versatile I would go for different brands.

Good quality strings. They are light, meaning only slight pressure is needed to find clear notes. I found they were easy to tune and held their tune very well.Excellent value for money.

Choosing a brand of strings that both suits your playing style and is also compatible with your particular make of guitar is for me, something that’s done gradually over time although I have to admit to getting locked into the concept that because my Gibson Les Paul was factory strung with 10-46 Gibson brand strings when I bought it, that I should continue that trend. Over the following years it seemed the rational thing to do was to replace my strings like for like without giving it a second thought and so I continued this trend.However, after reading an article in a guitar magazine regarding string dynamics, my thoughts on the above subject became slightly more relaxed and I broke the habit by getting a set of these nickel wound regular light 10-46 gauge strings by D’Addario and I’m genuinely glad I did.In summary, I’ve found these from past experience to be a great guitar string, both in their ability to hold their pitch even when being constantly bent and their capacity to retain that rich tone longer than other brands of strings I’ve tried.

Quality product well finished smooth strings good feel easy to install value for money

First time purchase of the strings and they are nice quality. Have had mine on for over a month now and they still sound clear and stay in tune well.I don't play for hours every day so can't comment on life span through heavy use.The strings have colour coded ends to make it easier picking the right string.The only down point (and it is a tiny one), the strings aren't in separate packets. That didn't really make a difference to me but would make selecting the right string even easier.The strings have a nice, smooth feel which I like. You do get a bit of squeaking when sliding over the low E but that could just be my poor technique :)Woll definitely buy them again.
