Nicely presented with plenty of ideas plus the basics methods ...
Nicely presented with plenty of ideas plus the basics methods at the back. I found it inspirational but it's probably not for those that want to reproduce all the lovely examples. Probably best for someone that alreayd has some bookbinding knowlwdge. (Tha'll be me then...)

A little gem.
What a great format; you have all the inspiration first, then the techniques. This works for me! Concise instructions, nicely printed - a good manageable size. This has to be one of my best buys.

This book is a quality volume, itself beautifully bound. The first 125 pages are taken up by examples of hand made books with details of the materials used to create different constructions and bindings, by artists from around the world. The final 54 pages cover bookmaking practice i.e. Tools and materials, followed by clear diagrams and instructions on how to create some of the constructions and bindings. I had hoped for more emphasis on the bookmaking practise. Nevertheless a very informative volume.

simple basic techniques for bookmaking and lots of pictures
The book is a nice petite size. I was looking forward to the instructions on how to make the books, but most of the book shows pictures that other artists have made. If you want to learn to make the many different styles of handmade books then this book is not for you. If you would like a reference for what type of books are possible, then this book is for you. I was not happy with my purchase as I wanted to have lessons on bookmaking - this is not the book for it.

Great little book and although used was very good condition
Absolutely beautiful little book with great ideas and practical instructions for bookbinding. I learned enough to make some small books quite quickly and I was delighted with them.
