It is really very comprehensive and thorough with so much attention to detail. I am really impressed and feel very lucky to have been kindly asked to review this by the publishing company.My daughter did a degree in film studies so this was right up her street. She loves it. She works in a school at the moment and coincidently they are making a movie. She will be taking this to school with her so she can use it together with the children and get the maximum use out of it. This is perfect for that purpose as there are plenty of instructions and two separate books, one for storyboards and writing the script with lots of panels for pictures. In the beginning of the book it shows examples then the other pages have blank panels where you can fill in your own pictures and text for the plot with outline details.The other book that comes with this kit is the guide to making your movie. It is so well written and presented with full colour pictures along the way. It is broken up into three sections, Part 1 is before you shoot and that covers your story idea, shot by shot, make your own storyboard, crew members: assemble, costumes, props and location. Part 2 is lights, smart phone, action - that covers the right direction, shoot, your genre, great gadgets, technical tips, know your lighting, animation and animation tips and tricks. Part 3 post production - this covers editing your masterpiece, add special effects, roll credits, it's show-time, build your projector, glossary and index.My husband commented that when he was a child he would have loved a gift like this as he loved gadgets and learning about how things worked. I think this would make a really fantastic gift for children or adults. It would work well in a school setting or for parents to help their children make a movie. All you need is your mobile phone and patience. I love how inventive the author is and how nicely this is presented. The box that the books and other parts come in, transforms into a projector and using the lens provided you are ready to make your movie.There is a box printed and ready to assemble for your popcorn, there are tickets printed out and ready to give out to your "viewers".A tremendous amount of work has gone into creating this and it is lovely.I have added photographs.

After reading the reviews I purchased this for my grandson and when it arrived and I saw the contents I was ashamed to even give it to him! This is ONLY suitable for a 4-6 year old who wants to play 'cinemas' - it contains a popcorn holder for goodness sake - what is that to do with making movies! Do not bother to buy this.

Given as a gift for Christmas and went down very well.

My partner bought this for my kids. Looks like it's going to be good... but the projector is utterly useless. Do you really think a smart phone emits enough light to cast over a foot away through a lens onto a wall? Well, it doesn't. Don't waste your money.
