Yes - it does replace my hot water bottle!
Okay, so I've been using this for the last 24 hours. I want to write a review because none of the reviews seemed to explicitly detail whether this could effectively substitute a conventional hot water bottle. And I was confused by the mixture of glowing and negative reviews. For the sake of clarity, if you are here to replace conventional hot water bottles, this is for you. At first, I was annoyed with it, because it seemed to get very warm and that was about it. I charged it for as long as I could in my kitchen, and it didn't seem to get that hot. I took it up to my room and used it for a while, and it remained a consistent temperature for a couple hours, so the lack of needing to refill it was nice, but I just wished it was hotter! For whatever reason, switching it to the upstairs plugs, that are newer, made it lovely and boiling hot, just like a hot water bottle! If I were to compare the heat to a conventional bottle, I'd say that the normal rubber ones get hot to the degree where you literally can't hold them to the skin without burning yourself. These get hot to the degree where it's almost uncomfortable, but won't cause injury. That's the perfect heat for me! It's like a hot water bottle that has been let cool for 30 minutes, so that it's not scorching. What also seems to be the trick is shaking and massaging it, to distribute the water. There's a hot battery inside, so by squeezing and massaging it, you move the water around the battery and it heats it up.Try with different plugs, let it charge up for a good while! I charge mine for like 20 minutes.Having the charger right next to the bed and simply popping it on that for 20 minutes, instead of having to go downstairs and keep boiling water like 4 times a day, is so much better, in my opinion. In conclusion: Yes, I do think this effectively replaces a hot water bottle. Yay!

Love it!
I don't always get around to leaving reviews but I just had to make time for this one! I suffer with lower back pain and was sick of wheat cushions only lasting about 15 mins before losing their heat. This ingenious product stays warm for hours! It takes about 10 mins to fully heat and then it lasts ages. And I was worried it wouldnt be hot enoughbut it is! Its not quite as hot as a hot water bottle with fully boiling water in it (not that you're supposed to use water that hot in them anyway!) but its not far off! It feels very well made and surprisingly high quality for the reasonable price. Thinking of purchasing a 2nd one while they're on offer.

Clever
Well we did quite a bit of research into these Electric Hot Water bottles and having decided onthis one I have to say we are reasonably impressed! It’s a good design , comfortable to hold and nice to look at! The heat output is not as hot as a traditional one but it’s still very good and there is residual heat even in the morning some 8 hours later. The charger is clever and the red light shows charging is taking place and there is a sound of bubbling though this is very quiet.Of course the proof of the pudding is the longevity of the product there have been some negative reviews on durability but if it stays like this it’s a good un !

Rechargeable, electrically-heated hot water bottle/pillow.
It was pure chance that I stumbled upon this product because I was actually looking to buy a conventional, refillable, hot water bottle. It was curiosity that finally made me decide to make my purchase.Would this electric hot water bottle be simpler to use and more cost effective compared with a real hot water bottle? I tend to think so because the fluid inside, whatever it is, is reusable in much the same way as the coolant in a vehicle's cooling system, except this water bottle cannot be topped up. Whatever the liquid filling is, it retains heat very well. With a real hot water bottle there is always the risk of scalding during filling. This risk is eliminated with the electric hot water bottle.I would not call the electric hot water bottle expensive because its price is on a par with similar designs from other manufacturers. A genuine quality hot water bottle can still be fairly expensive but I was willing to gamble the extra cost was probably worth it.I have used this electric hot water bottle several dozen times and I've come to think of it as an electrically-heated pillow. Once it reaches the desired working temperature, I disconnected the pillow from its charger and insert it into my bed beneath the top pillow. This is how I prefer to use it, near my head. The time the pillow is on charge can be used to set how hot the pillow gets. Less time on charge, less heat. The pillow or its charger must contain a heat sensor to prevent overheating. The sensor periodically interrupts the power in much the same way as an emersion heater. An LED indicator on the charger indicates when the pillow is being heated. There are no detailed instructions provided with the pillow because it doesn't require any. Putting the pillow 'on charge' is as simple as putting batteries in a torch. What surprised me during first use was the 'speed' of charging (heating) the pillow. It gets very hot very quickly, typically 15 minutes is more than adequate to reach a comfortable temperature. Once disconnected from its mains-powered charger (240Vac) the pillow gradually cools over the next 6 hours, or so.When its hottest setting is achieved it is probably best not to place the pillow directly onto the skin. It is very unlikely to inflict burns because the pillow has a soft, felt-like, outer cover, which totally encloses the flexible container that holds the heated fluid. There is no information that I can find that describes the toughness of the pillow's container. Can it be punctured accidentally? What is the fluid inside and is it dangerous if it leaks? What is the device inside that converts electrical power to heat? Is the container and its liquid replaceable? I am mindful of these questions when the pillow is in use so I treat it with respect. So far, so good. Recommended.

no wy to contact supplier to make complaint about performance
I purchased this item 4 months ago but it does not appear to be heating up properly, the top side gets warm while the underside is not heated at all, I have written a review as i can see no other way to make contact with the provider. It is no longer working but because the return date has expired i cannot claim either a replacement or a refund. I paid £24.99 for a hot water bottle that worked for less than 4 months. Not satisfied at all

doesn't last longer than 4 or 5 months
great value and at first worked great, then after about 3 months it stopped charging properly, getting hot enough and staying warm. will need to be replaced before winter which defeats the purpose of it being rechargeable

Love this
I bought this my elderly mother as I was scared of her using the old-fashioned hot water bottles. It works great then bought one for my mother-in-law then bought one for my friend if I did not live in a hot country I would buy one for me too.
