I was extremely delighted when I opened the 5 pound package of Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C) as I have not seen such brilliant white Vitamic C for a very long time. It poured out like smooth icing-sugar. I quickly put the brilliant white smooth powder (about SGD 60, 1 USD= 1.36 SGD) into air-tight containers to prevent the Vitamin C from oxidising. I have handled may types and grades of Vitamic C as I worked as a chemist before entering Medical School. I have handled barrels of industrial vitamin C which is used to flavour soft drinks. There is an expensive Analytical Reference standard Vitamin C which is extremely costly. If you are the type of person who orders this product, you probably already have a use for it, and a formula you are not sharing with the rest! I have my own formulae too for this product which really exceeds all expectations I had for it. Secret recipes aside, there is a very sound financial reason for this product, especially if you have the skill to titrate properly. Commercially, one gram of effervescent flavoured Vitamin C cost SGD 1.80. (One tube of 10 effervescent tabs used to be $1.60 when I started medical practice, and now it is $18 SGD for 10 tablet tube.) 5 pounds of Vitamin C is 2268 grams. 5 pounds is about $60 SGD. This means that 1 gram of pure snowy white (sour) vit C from this 5 pound packet costs only 6000 cents divided by 2268 grams which works out to be 2.65 cents per gram! I do not need the fizzy gimmick of the Roche vitamin C which costs 180 cents per gram. If you are looking for pure Vitamin C, you really need look no further than this plain brown paper bag of 5 pounds of vitamin C. I can mix the 2.65 cent/g Vitamic C with any taste syrup I want, without being constrained by the commercial standard tastes of orange, grape and limitred others. If I want the fizz, I can always add carbonated drinks to my compounded 2.65 cent per gram Vitamin C. I do not think I need to go on about how to use this cheap and good Vitamin C powder as the people who order this type of product tend to have at least some scientific training on how to dilute and titrate. All they want to know is if the product lives up to expectation: it does, and exceeds expectation. It is not clumpy junk but the finest powder one can expect for this product at this price. No buyer's remorse. This Vitamin C is good stuff. 2.65 cents per gram if you have basic kitchen weighing scales and kitchen calibrated glassware. Astonishingly pleasant discovery for a former chemist. They do not make chemicals this fine nowadays!

First off, our bodies don't need vitamin C in huge quantities every day, only if sick. I have been burned by taking too much vitamin C internally before, it is not as safe as some of these people believe. Over time, it could damage your kidneys, especially if taking a bunch of other supplements, powders etc. If you feel tired, mid back ache, puffy eyes - your kidneys are tired of processing too much stuff. Then I bought liposomal vit C, but it was too pricey, I tried to make my own, but it's not the same and still acidic for my stomach. The safest way to do it is to apply it to skin, plus it benefits not only whole body, but skin too. It has to be mixed right before applying it on skin though, since it is very unstable. Unfortunately, I have hard time dissolving this powder. The crystals are relatively large, hard and sharp, and feel rough on skin if not dissolved. I am trying various ways to use it on skin. So, before sleep I put a 1/4 teaspoon of this (1g of vit C) in a small glass cup, add same amount of warm distilled water, and mix it for a min, then add it to my night cream and mix it together, and immediately apply this to my face, neck and back of my hands. I noticed great results in my skin color, texture, elasticity and wrinkles are getting less deep. This gave me more results than anything, even facials. It starts drying skin if applied every day, so I do it every 2-3 days. I noticed that I crave citrus less, so it means I am getting enough vitamin C through skin. I wish I knew how to dissolve this better. I might try to grind it first... Overall, I highly recommend this product for beauty and health purposes.

I used this product for high-dosage Vitamin C to help with my Stage 4 Lung Cancer because of its ease of mixing. I originally started with a powder Vitamin C from Trader Joe’s but this Pure brand mixed easier and was less expensive, especially in the 5 lb bag. The quality and ease of use in adding it to my filtered water made it easily absorbable. I have purchased 21 lbs of Vitamin C from Pure over several years and have never got a bad batch so I believe the quality and durability has remained very good. When you are using high-dose Vitamin C the water definitely gets a Very Tangy taste to it. I wanted to restrict my use of sugars unless it was organic and fresh-squeezed without any pasteurization. You may want to mix it with apple juice or something else to dilute the Tanginess. NOTE: Please do your research to find out about bowel tolerance and how to avoid it. In my particular case, I reached bowel tolerance at 38 grams (38,000 mg) of Vit. C throughout the day.

Very good quality and dissolves well. Every time I start feeling a cold coming on i dissolve a table spoon in some water with a little baking soda and it keeps it from getting worse. Taking It just makes you feel better in general. You get a lot for the cost and it works very well. Don't take too much or you will be sitting on the toilet for hours. Looks like it's natural and there aren't any added colors.

Best product ever - Complete lifesaver!!! The gardener accidentally got fertilizer in the pool which turned into 7 large iron stains on the pebbletec plaster. I scrubbed them with the course pool brush immediately after I realized a couple days later but it did absolutely nothing - didn’t even lighten them at all!
