Q: Would this work sealing a frame to an exterior wall which is rendered ?

Do NOT think so. It’s a sealant, so will seal a joint but NOT hold any weight.

Q: I am looking for a really dark brown sealant, how dark is this

It’s quite dark. I used it to seal around dark mahogany and its much darker than that, like chocolate.
