Casts well with no binding, Easy to use if your beginning fishing and looking for an inexpensive reel. Bought this for use of just dropping my line from the kayak, which the trigger system works well. You can't go wrong buying this.

The listing for this item was for the 2016 model; I was fully aware that model might not be available, however, the new 2021 (I assume) is an excellent ultra-light trigger spin reel. That mid-2000's range of Zebco reels were really exceptional, I have several in my collection; purchased a newer platinum 33 model and it's not of the same quality, though not terrible. There's too much plastic on the outside.This newer trigger-spin model has a small footprint; it's very compact, fits the hand nicely, and casts smoothly and far. Tried it on the lawn with about a 1/4" teardrop weight and it casts really far. Used a 1/16 spinner bait this morning at the park pond and it did pretty well casting that light weight. The line, 4 lb test clear Cajun seems to be good quality monofilament line.I'm overall happy with the purchase; however, I'll have my eye out for an old stock 2016 or so ultra-light Zebco triggerspin reel

I use for small poles. Very easy to cast and control the placement of the cast. Perfect for light weight lures. Cant go wrong as I've had and still have several of Zebco trigger spinning reels.

I love everything about Zebco reels. They are easy to use, intuitive, durable, and an excellent value for the money. My lovely wife caught this nice fish with a 33 micro and Hotcast combo. I have some spinning and baitcasting reels too, but Zebco spincasting reels are always my favorite reel to use. Every single Zebco I use, and I have ten, is a winner and a fish catcher. They never fail to cast, retrieve, and function properly. Every angler should own one! Zebco has transformed me. Instead of fishing I can now concentrate on catching and trying different baits and lures.

If you're expecting a competent real, this is not it. I use it for small fish when I'm just messing around, I use it on a 5' ultra lite rod. The biggest problem with this real is the drag system, but I expected the quality. I have an older model, that finally gave out, but it was much better than this one.

Got this for my wife to replace a crummy spinning reel that came as a combo "storebought purchase".The drag didnt work on the original reel and she was not getting the hang of it.This reel solved both problems. The drag works and she learned how to cast it much better than an open faced spinning reel. A good purchase.

This is a great little reel, it brings me back to my early days fishing as a young boy. Just about every one started with a spincast reel. This model has stood the test of time, the new 33 model has some great features, it is sturdy and solid. I mainly use baitcasters now but plan to set it up and use it for casting smaller baits, it will work good on windy days or for skipping a bait. I have not used it as of yet but lam sure it will do the job. All in all this is a good little reel at a great price.

My son is autistic and we have recently taken up. Fishing together, he struggled initially with a traditional reel, so I purchased this, he loved it, easy to use, no messing about, he was fishing in no time, I on the other hand struggle to use it, just haven't got the touch, still not sure how to turn on the bite alarm though, my boy has since started to use a traditional reel also but won't be without this one so 2 rods it is lol. Would recommend this to anyone, sturdy, compact, looks great, no messing about, very practical and accurate, great product.

Quality like it used to be, well built. My wife was happy with choice and ready to fish again.

I don’t know of any closed reel on the market today that rivals with this one at that price (22.50$), the materials used and features are great. Oh yes: it works very well too!
