Westland 10200054 Cacti/Succulent Potting Compost Mix, Enriched with Seramis
I recently purchased the Westland 10200054 Cacti/Succulent Potting Compost Mix, enriched with Seramis, and I must say, I am extremely pleased with the results. After inheriting a Christmas plant from my late mother, I was determined to give it the best care possible, and this potting mix did not disappoint. The compost mix comes in a convenient 4-liter bag, which was more than enough for repotting my plant. The packaging was sturdy and sealed well, ensuring the freshness and quality of the compost mix was maintained. Upon opening the bag, I noticed the mix had a light and fluffy texture with a pleasant earthy smell. The addition of Seramis, a moisture-control additive, gave me confidence that my plant would get the right amount of water without risking overwatering. This was crucial, as cacti and succulents require well-draining soil to thrive. Using the mix was a breeze. I gently removed my Christmas plant from its original pot, shook off the excess soil, and placed it in a larger container filled with the Westland compost mix. The mix provided excellent support for the plant's roots, ensuring they were held in place securely. The texture of the compost mix also allowed for proper aeration, preventing root rot and encouraging healthy growth. Over the following weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my Christmas plant's health. The leaves became more vibrant, and the plant looked overall more robust. The compost mix seemed to provide all the necessary nutrients it needed to thrive. I also appreciated the longevity of the Westland compost mix. Unlike other brands I have tried in the past, this mix retained its texture and moisture control properties for an extended period. It required watering less frequently, saving me time and effort. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Westland 10200054 Cacti/Succulent Potting Compost Mix enriched with Seramis. It not only provided my inherited Christmas plant with the optimal growing conditions, but it also surpassed my expectations in terms of quality and results. If you're looking to revive and nurture your cacti or succulents, this potting mix is definitely worth considering.

Soil mites but otherwise good stuff
This is pretty standard, good stuff for my succulents and I'm having success propagating new jade plants using this (and some succulent fertiliser). One thing to consider though is that in every pot that I've used this soil, watering thoroughly leads to an infestation of soil mites within a few days. These are not harmful to your plant but just something to consider if you've got your plants inside (they can be left in the soil as they might actually be beneficial for your plant or they can be removed using an insecticide or various other methods).

Product arrived on the date specified by the seller, the bag was smaller than expected but that's my fault for not finding out the proper weight before ordering.

Great Quality Potting Mix for Healthy Cacti and Succulents
The Westland Cacti/Succulent Potting Compost Mix is a fantastic choice for anyone growing succulents or cacti. The mix has a perfect balance of drainage and moisture retention, ensuring that plants won't succumb to root rot, which is a common issue with these types of plants. One of the standout features is the addition of Seramis, which helps maintain optimal moisture levels by absorbing and slowly releasing water as needed. It’s especially handy for people like me who sometimes forget watering schedules! The texture is light and airy, making repotting effortless, and the 4-liter bag provides enough for several pots, depending on their size. My succulents have visibly perked up since switching to this mix, and it’s clear they’re thriving. If you’re serious about keeping your plants healthy, this potting compost mix is a must-have. Highly recommended for both beginners and seasoned succulent enthusiasts!

Best plant soil I ever tried.
I used this on my cactus, sempervivum and echeveria that desperately needed repotting into a well draining soil it worked so well with them I also used it on my peperomia angulata and tradescantia zebrina because the soil I used before didn't drain well, was full of pests and my plants were looking miserable. For the peperomia angulata is still too early to talk because it's been only a week but my tradescantia's cuttings are looking very promising, they are looking more vibrant and I think that they are growing good quality roots because they look more colourful and healthy and the soil has a nice spongy consistency that looks like it would provide a nice lightweight airflow and drainage that could give my baby's roots an environment to grow strong. The pack looked like it wouldn't pot many plants but I used it on 6 pots and I still have about half pack going so I would say that if you use it in 12cm pots it actually goes a long way. I'm half tempted to use it to grow other regular houseplants because it seems like good quality soil.

Great Value
Bought this for the "baby cacti" I cut off my adult (dying) cactus plant, and they seem to like it! The bag is a good size - you get plenty in it, but it isn't too big to carry and store - very manageable. Seems good quality and no sign of any gnats

Depends what you get
Good sized bag for the price. First bag I bought was great - fast draining as expected and generally perfect for my plants. Second bag seemed like different soil - it's a darker colour and seems to hold into moisture. It has also developed a very fine fungus in each of the plants I've potted in it - I'm not convinced that it's coincidence that three plants died off in this soil. If you get a bag that has a sort of light brown, almost red soil it will be fine. If it's dark brown or black, send it back - I wish I had.
