What is a Dynamic Microphone? Dynamic mics have several advantages that make them ideal for live applications or recording amplified instruments. They’re robust, resistant to moisture and can achieve high gain before feedback. These microphones’ cardioid pickup pattern is designed to capture the source signal, such as a guitar amplifier or vocalist, while shunning off-axis sound. Why the XM1800S? If you take a look at the stage in any club, you’ll probably see at least three dynamic mics for the vocalists, with even more for the drums and amplifiers. This convenient package puts three great-sounding mics at your immediate disposal. XM1800S mics provide super-clean sound with minimal distortion, a slight presence lift in the critical mid-range – and an on/off switch for breaks in the set. You can connect it to computer but you need an adapter as the plug it comes with is to large to connect to the computer headphone socket. **Q: Does this mic connect to male XLR cable** A: As with all mics, you plug the female end of your XLR cable into the microphone and then plug the male end of the XLR cable into your mixer/interface/recorder/amp. **Q: Does this mic have an on/off switch? Thanks** A: No, but as on/off switches for mics are considered "evil," I would not worry about it. Pro mics don't have on/off switches. For best results avoid XLR->USB directly. Use XLR->MIXER/XLR Interface with USB to computer. The XLR to Mixer/XLR interface will almost always have a much better A/D converter than an inline USB. If you're on a budget, UMC202/404HD are an excellent choice. **Q: Can you please tell me how to get this to work there are no instructions** A: You’ll need to plug this in using a 3 pin XLR to Jack cable. Just look up microphone cable. Then plug that into an amp. Switch on and speak/sing. Your away! ## Frequently Bought Together - Behringer ULTRAVOICE XM1800S Dynamic Handheld Microphone, 3 Pack - Mudder 5 Pack Foam Mic Cover Handheld Microphone Windscreen (5 Pack) - AQOOL XLR Cables 25ft 4 Pack, XLR Microphone Cable Male to Female, Balanced Gold-Plated 3-Pin Mic Cord -25 Feet --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/49015647-ultravoice-xm1800s-3-dynamic-cardioid-vocal-and-instrument-microphones-set](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/49015647-ultravoice-xm1800s-3-dynamic-cardioid-vocal-and-instrument-microphones-set) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
