I presume you mean inserted rather than"interested". Yes,the presses are a slightly different shape on each side so it probably needs to be one way rather than either.

Can this be used for car terminals

It can be used on the, red blue, yellow, crimps or car connections, thats is the reason i got mine.

Can this be used to crimp aluminium ferrules on steel wires, please?

I have used for crimping brass tube onto braided steel wire for model aircraft control lines. However this is always backed up by doubling through and binding ends with fine copper wire, solder or epoxy, cover with heatshrink. For my use I would not really trust crimp alone.
