Draper76762 Heavy-Duty Leaf Collectors (Pair)

Very sturdy but not sturdy enough for constant use as a professional gardener but I don’t think any exist that would last a long enough time for the use I put them to.

Unlike the discription suggests these are lightweight

These are great for bone dry leaves: very lightweight and effective at scooping leaves up.However, despite the product title, they are not heavy duty. They are made from a very flimsy moulded plastic, and I think would become brittle with age, or use in cold weather. Wet leaves, heavier garden debris (twigs etc) or even snagging the scoops on the ground will cause the plastic to buckle. Mine have already bent a few times and have the tell-tale white marks where the plastic has stretched: they are now marginally reinforced with duct tape (I might glue on some strips of wood), but I don't think it will be long before they bend again and just break.For the price, they are good value. Just don't expect something really that robust. Spend a lot more if you want something to last a few years.

Sadly one of the grabbers split on first time of leaf collecting. They are light with a good grip but not very sturdy. The company were excellent, issuing a refund easily and they were very helpful and courteous. So 5 stars for Lamphouse but only three stars for the product.

Sadly mine have snapped around the hand grip. Seems to be a weak point externally. My leaves were wet and heavy, but I was surprised to see how weak it was.Can't be bothered to return so will try to repair somehow myself.

I bought these 12 months ago on the basis of the claim they were "sturdy". That's not the case at all. For the last few days there have been cracking sounds when they are used to pick up leaves and I could see the green plastic was turning white where the paddles meet the handles. Today they snapped completely. Wholly unacceptable.

Needs to be stronger

Not used a great deal as yet but don’t seem nearly as strong as an old pair of draper leaf grabbers I’ve used. Plastic feels thin and weak, think you will have to be gentle with them to ensure they last any length of time.
