This is absolutely not stain this is pure white paint with a lot of beige in it. it does not adhere or alter the color of the wood filler! Messy and a complete waste of time!

First picture shows original table color at the bottom, top shelf is the grey stain I purchased. First day I used it, no color came out, just a clear liquid. I tried it again the second day and the grey color finally came out. However, the stain does not come out as advertised in the video. You have to squeeze bottle while pushing on the sponge for the color to come out. Needless to say the project took twice as long to complete. However, I’m satisfied with end result as the table now matches my new living room decor.

The stain is easy enough to apply but a little runny and not thick enough for my taste, it barely showed up on the item I used it on.

Not sure about some of the review worthy questions but all in all, this stuff is great! I don’t expect the sponge is going to hold out for super long but hopefully long enough for the container to get used for the most part. That’s more of a me issue than anything else though. Hence why I have a stockpile of sponge brushes. But this is so much easier.

The bottom shows the original wood.. I was a little worried but it worked perfectly easy to use no clean up or mess after I could have covered completely but I wanted some of the brown to show through

The gray stain is really a nice light color, so layering the stain is completely doable. The sponge applicator was the reason I purchased it. I thought it would be easier on my hands and less messy. The first pass tore the sponge. I ended up working with a detail brush for the small areas. I ended up dumping it into a empty container and using a rag for the rest of the piece. Disappointed in the applicator, but the stain itself is easy to work with.

I like the varathane stain. The sponge dispenser is a bad idea. I find it clogs a lot and doesn’t dispense the stain evenly. Don’t waste your money on this one just buy the regular can.
