If you think you have a boxers fracture, get this splint and wear it whether you get confrimation or not, and then when you get into the doctor it will have started to properly heal by the time it gets confirmed leading to a much better outcome. It does begin to irritate the webbing of your thumb area due to the strap that comes around and back over your palm to hold it against your hand, but that can be overcome by wearing an ace wrap, a superskin, blister prevention band aid thing, a band aid, or any other type of skin cover that will stop it from rubbing up against you so much. It gave me a blister at first, and now has a small sore, but that is so far the only drawback of this splint. I couldn't recommend this one enough if you suspect you have a boxers fracture, or need to stabilize your 4th and 5th digits / Metacarpal The ortho said it is exactly what he would have given me and suggests, and that getting it right away was one of the better things I could have done, as it is already showing positive signs of healing.
