Tested with a Thermometer โ Runs About 2ยฐ High
I spent hours researching before choosing a heater for my 5-gallon tank with baby GloFish, and this is the one I ended up going with. So far, Iโm really happy with it. One of the biggest reasons I chose this model is the adjustable temperature. It has a wide range (59ยฐFโ93ยฐF), which gives much more control compared to preset heaters. Thatโs especially important in smaller tanks where temperature can fluctuate more quickly. The digital display is a huge plus, but I still tested it with a separate thermometer to check accuracy. I found that it runs about 2ยฐF higher than the set temperature (for example, set to 70ยฐF โ reads about 72ยฐF on a separate thermometer). Once I adjusted for that difference, it held temperature consistently. Installation took seconds โ it secures easily with suction cups and stays in place without shifting. Itโs also a good size for a 5-gallon tank and doesnโt feel bulky or intrusive. The controls are simple as well. You just press the button to cycle through temperatures, and you can hold it for 3 seconds to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. One thing I really appreciate is that it has built-in safety indicators on the display: E1 = heater shuts off if itโs out of the water HH = temperature is too high (over 95ยฐF) Both are helpful safeguards and easy to correct โ just fully submerge the heater or allow the temperature to come back down. Itโs also recommended to keep the heater from directly touching the bottom of the tank, which is something to keep in mind during setup. Overall, this has been a solid, easy-to-use heater that gives me more control and peace of mind. Just be aware of the slight temperature offset and adjust accordingly. I will update if anything changes with longer use! โฉ๏ธFast forward: It has been 2 weeks of constant use (24/7) and I have had great results. The thermometer has kept my tank at a consistent temperature without any unwanted fluctuations. It still runs about 2ยฐ higher, but has not showed any signs of going higher or lower than that. โญ๏ธI included a setup video as well as photos + comparison temperature readings

Nifty!
Bought a 5 gallon tank for my betta and needed a heater. This is a bit on the bulky side, but does it's job. I set it at 78 and it took about 5 hours to achieve it's temperature starting at 67. Once it gets there, the light turns blue and it stays set unless the temperature drops. When I put my new betta in the tank, his water was off a bit, and that quickly, it showed the heater temp at 77. Within an hour it was right back at 78. Seems to work well so far. I tried one suction cup that worked fine, then put it on the other to make sure it would stay put. I don't think it needs it as it seems to be "too much". I may remove it when I do a partial water change. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent Performance and Value for the Price
Iโm extremely satisfied with this water heater. Itโs the perfect size and does an excellent job heating the tank efficiently and consistently. The heater shuts off automatically when the set temperature is reach making it safe for the fish. The only improvement I would suggest is the ability to calibrate the thermometer, as it appears to be off by a few degrees. That said, considering the price point, this is a minor trade-off and doesnโt take away from the overall performance. Overall, a great value and a solid choice.

Small but mighty
Needed to purchase a small heater for a small rescue tank for a betta. It was easy to set up, and I appreciate that it shows you what the tank is set at and what the tank is reading too. Keeps temp consistent by 1 degree. It took some time to figure out what the blue light / red light / no light mean, but it wasnโt difficult to figure out.

Most reliable with just some initial monitoring needed
Have tried multiple brands of mini heaters for my 3 gallon tank. Overall i would just suggest going no smaller than a 5 gallon tank bc regulating water quality is more tedious the smaller the tank. But after 2 aqueon mini heaters malfunctioned (water got to 90 degrees one time and the other one just stopped heating), the fluval mini heater maintained the water at 85 degrees (the preset is too high for such a small tank), then i found this hygger and it has been the best since i want my water at 80 degrees for my betta, and it can do it! One thing is i have to set it at 76 degrees to maintain 80 degrees in this 3 gallon tank. I have a 6.5 gallon tank and got the hygger for that size tank and it maintains the water at 80 when set to 80. So i think this is the best and most reliable heater for a small tank, but definitely dont set it and leave the house the first day, set to 76 and see what you get from that. 3 gallons just heats up so fast. Make sure to have a stand alone thermometer in any fish tank to maintain correct and accurate water temp.

Great heater for betta or nano aquarium
Great betta heater for nano aquarium keeps the water at a constant temperature and very easy to set up. Also has a built-in digital thermostat and thermometer so it super easy to see your temperature in the aquarium no second guessing. It keeps my wife betta happy and the suction cup work and keeps it in place
