Can this be installed in an oven as a replacement for the "Straight" shape bulb (also E14 but different shape) that was originally fitted there?

Technically if the same thread type exists it will fit. The problem however will be whether the glass cover over the bulb will still fit as that must be in place. That can only be determined on site with your appliance. Personally I would fit the same type as exists.
