Available for specific oven luminaires fitted in different positions, such as downlighters, side-lights and backlights. 40 W E14 Oven Dimmable For specific applications Philips special-purpose incandescent light lamps are meant to be used for specific applications. Light lamps for general home lighting are available in the Philips halogen, energy-saving and LED ranges.

Review: Does the job - The bulb is everything you would expect it to be. Go for a 40W, not 25W, then it will be bright enough to see through the oven door whilst you are cooking. I gave it only one star for ease of installation. That isn't the fault of the bulb, which is easy to install... Getting the glass cover off is a nightmare.. You will be encouraged to buy an expensive specific 'cover removal tool'... Let me say that this is the only oven bulb I have ever had to change in decades. You will probably never use the 'special tool' again and it will be lost in your garden shed.... Look on YouTube and you will find numerous 'bodges' to get the cover off for free. I put some PVC tape around the jaws of an adjustable pipe wrench (which most of us have in our toolbox) and it worked a treat...

**Q: Can this bulb be used in a fridge**
A: If it fits, yes it can. THe envelope is quite large, so it may be too big.

**Q: are these dimmable**
A: No, this is a bulb for use in your Oven. Check out Philips Hue and Philips LED products for dimmable house lighting options.

**Q: Can this be installed in an oven as a replacement for the "Straight" shape bulb (also E14 but different shape) that was originally fitted there?**
A: Technically if the same thread type exists it will fit. The problem however will be whether the glass cover over the bulb  will still fit as that must be in place. That can only be determined on site with your appliance.
Personally I would fit the same type as exists.

**Q: Wondering for those that have a clear bulb how recently did you buy it ?**

The bulb is everything you would expect it to be. Go for a 40W, not 25W, then it will be bright enough to see through the oven door whilst you are cooking. I gave it only one star for ease of installation. That isn't the fault of the bulb, which is easy to install... Getting the glass cover off is a nightmare.. You will be encouraged to buy an expensive specific 'cover removal tool'... Let me say that this is the only oven bulb I have ever had to change in decades. You will probably never use the 'special tool' again and it will be lost in your garden shed.... Look on YouTube and you will find numerous 'bodges' to get the cover off for free. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ How long will this one last!

I don't know if it's my oven or if this is just the way it is, but I seem to go through these fairly quickly. About every 4-6 months they just seem to pop. You can easily see the filament has just broken away from the connecting road and thus brakes the circuit. I wish there was an LED alternative, but alas I've not found one yet. So I tend to buy two, keep one safe and then when they go, order up another set. Other than that, they are pretty good. A little yellow tint, but nothing unexpected. Arrived quick as per Prime expectations. Just wish they would last a bit longer...
