Clear voice, accurate, but large and a bit chunky
I was after a speaking watch for some time, purely for use at night when it's difficult to see a normal watch.PROs----Accurate; it gets a time signal every day (assuming you're not living in a lead-lined room, and even then you can just leave it on the window sill during the day and it will pick up the time within a few minutes)Clearly spoken. Although during the day you might think "not loud enough, surely?" I can assure you that at 2am it's more than loud enough. Man's voice, BBC English, and optionally will speak the date too.Large face with nicely contrasting black hands and white face (other options are available too but this seemed the easiest to read). Not only is it accurate the voice and hands all match up so you don't have to adjust it. Not ever, not even after the daylight saving hour. Brilliant!CONs----Large for a 'ladies' watch, but as it's primarily for the partially sighted it's probably a good thing.Chunky. OK, this was probably the biggest surprise, in how thick it was from front (the watch face) to the back of the watch, probably due to all the electronics. Not a deal breaker but not the most stylish of watches for day use. However, if you are visually challenged then its function will be of much more importance than how chunky it is. And as I said, it's only used at night.Strap was leather with a buckle. Useless for quick changes. So I replaced it with an expanding bracelet from a market man-in-a-van and it's great. Annoyingly, other models in the same range come with either a bracelet (clasp) or expanding bracelet strap just not this black-hand on white face version. Typical.Conclusion----------Excellent for what it is intended for. A bit chunky for day-to-day use and certainly larger than most 'ladies' watches but you must remember who it's aimed at. I'd buy this again, most certainly.---[If you found this review helpful please up-vote; it you didn't, don't down-vote - leave a comment to help me improve this and my other reviews]

Clear voice. Simple to use.
This is invaluable for someone with poor eyesight. Would have given it 5 stars except that the leather strap is a bit stiff and the face of the watch is a wee bit big on my mum's wrist. There is a smaller version that might have been a better fit.

Big easily readable screen!
OK so far. Picked up the right time, but I pressed a button and stopped the procedure. However - I left the watch on the windowsill overnight and it picked up the correct time. I'm not visually impaired, so would expect my battery to last 1.5 years. However - the 2 o'clock button keeps catching on my jacket sleeve - reducing my battery life. So - I've moved my watch to my right wrist - away from my jacket sleeve. Wait and see. Otherwise - love my new IT piece of equipment!

Overall good product with one flaw - tries to do too much with one button.
Bought this for my mother. Only downside is you press the button once for time and again for date; mother tends to hold button down skipping over time to the date. Would probably have been better if button were single function for time only .Best bit is she wants to know if guys telling time work shifts; also when tried to explain radio controlled time adjustment as watch talking to another clock she thought that was why some of her other clocks were at wrong time was because they'd been talking to each other and got confused. Bless!

A watch for partially sighted people.
I bought this for my mother who is partially sighted and nearly deaf. She finds the dial easy to ready and she can hear the speaker telling her the time if she raises it to her ear and presses the button. It is quite thick for a ladies watch but it does the job it was intended to do. She is very pleased with it because for the first time in years she can see the face of a wrist watch. She would recommend the watch to anyone with similar problems to hers.

Bought as birthday present for an old lady with poor eyesight. My thoughts were that she would use it for a few days until the novelty wore off. To my surprise it has not been off her hand since we gave it to her. She, with a struggle, can see the watch face due to its design. As regards the talking part it is the best thing she has had as she can hear the time at all times. I was amazed that the old lady of 93 has become so reliant on this watch. Excellent value.

Beautifully clear to read in poor lighting conditions
Watch originally delivered with only three screws and I could not get it to set to the correct time. Sellers were very helpful. I returned it and it came back with four screws and set to the correct time within two days. I just hope that it will set automatically when the hour changes now! The watch is quite chunky - sitting about 1.5 cm high off the wrist and is more the diameter of a man's watch - but it has a beautifully clear face and says both the time (and the date) at the push (or two pushes!) of the button.UPDATE: Watch did reset to British Summer time all on its own today - brill. Would give five stars had it arrived in perfect condition.

Lifemax Ladies Talking Watch
The first watch I received caused some problems after about 2 weeks.Firstly the battery gave out,so I had that replaced at a well known jewellers. This was quickly followed by the watch unable to keep any sort of time, which wasvery confusing at first because the instructions are quite complex. After severalattempts of setting the time it became obvious that the watch was faulty. So I returnedthe watch to Amazon , who sent me a replacement very promptly. The replacement watchhas worked like 'clockwork',excuse the pun', and I am more than happy with the product.
