DennerleNano Gravel Cleaner

I got mine half price as damaged in the Amazon WHS, and I can't complain. works really well, suction is not super quick so you don't end up emptying your tank too soon - still figuring out the best way to use it, but when you press it into the gravel just right a big massive cloud or detritus comes up and its very satisfying to see. We have 30L nano tank with shrimp, and the suction is controlled well enough that I can get a decent bit of cleaning done whilst only emptying 10% of my tank, which is the maximum we do at once. Not too strong to suck up the shrimp, which is a plus.Also a bit annoying as there is too much water stuck in the tubes after you lift, and even when you try to make sure it's all drained there seems to be some left in the middle bend, and I ended up pouring a bit of water out accidentally even after I tried to shake it all off.Overall though I would really recommend it, especially if the price comes down, but for what it is £30 normal price is a bit on the high side.

So far quite impressed, well except for the price for what amounts to a few bits of plastic. I mean the mark up of this must be huge! That said it IS well designed, fits easily in my hand and starts easily. I dont mind sucking to start a syphon - there is a knack to not getting a mouth full of water - but I really appreciate the ease with which this starts . . . its a far cry from those that purport to start by moving them up and down in the tank but which never do unless you really want to risk freaking out your fish and sloshing water everywhere! Anyway I've held off giving 5 stars because I want to see how this lasts and because I think it is a bit over priced, a tenner would be fairer and I'm sure still provide a huge profit.

This is by far the best gravel cleaner for small tanks that I've ever owned. Main points in no particular order:- Easy to start the syphon first time every time- No up-and-down thrusting required, meaning no tsunami waves bouncing round the tank- Plenty of time to hoover because the flow rate isn't manically fast- In my test it took 10 minutes to syphon 10 litres i.e. flow is 1 litre a minute- Nozzle is really small for getting into the tight spots- Suction power comfortably enough to pick the lighter muck you want out the tank- Gravel usually only goes 30-50% up the tube before falling back- Bucket clip works a treat. Had no accidents- Easy to take apart and cleanI was initially worried the nozzle was too small to clean all the floor during a water change. However, the flow rate gives enough time for no-rush, precision cleaning of gravel and decorationsAn unexpected killer feature is it drains difficult-to-access compartments near bone dry - to a few millimetres depth or so. That's because its small nozzle maintains the pressure and keeps on sucking even if the depth is 5mm or so. Evaporation can then take care of anything that's left..If you are wanting to do a fast water change then this is not your tool - it's quicker to scoop the water out with a jug. Otherwise, there's nothing to beat this device for thoroughly cleaning a Nano tank.

This gravel cleaner is really excellent for smaller tanks. I've used various cheapies and always found them okay so I was sceptical that this item would be worthwhile. Genuinely though if you have a small tank, it is very worthwhile. The clip allows you to control the speed of the syphon so you don't suck your sand up. The bucket clip is self explanatory but surprisingly useful. The starter mechanism is easy to use and doesn't cause the water to slop around in the tank. Finally it can be completely dissembled to clean.Very very thoughtfully designed product.

Used in 2 ADA 60F tanks that houses red cherry shrimps, tetra's and some rasboras.Pros: This model works well for shallow tanks,Cons: The strainer gets blocked up very quickly which means i have to dismantle and clean it several times in one session, which can be quite frustrating. Each time i remove the tube there is a lot of squeaking because I have to twist and wriggle it off as it is very tight and I worry i might snap by accident.Overall verdict: If I ever needed a replacement I would try out another product.

Fantastic Gravel cleaner for smaller tanks. I use this with quite a small aquarium (around 25 litres) and some brands of cleaner will just empty the tank in virtually seconds! This sucks up the rubbish from the gravel but empties the water at a much slower rate - meaning you can clean the tank more effectively. It does occasionaly get a bit clogged but it's not a big deal to give it a quick rinse and then continue. all the parts seem well made and it does a great job!

After a couple of less successful attempts I got the hang of it and now couldn't do without it. A bit pricey however it is a good quality well made Dennerle product, it can be fully dismantled for cleaning and will last. Perfect to carry out routine cleaning and water changes. The long tube reaches all the way down and the consistent suction gently cleans the gravel of all debris without uprooting or disturbing the plants in my nano cube.

Perfecto para nano acuarios, buena succión y fácil manejo pero Se agradecería que trajera instrucciones en español ya que Al desconocer el manejo en mi primer uso puse el Tanque perdido de porquería. Haciendo las cosas bien no se ensucia el agua y da tiempo a limpiar el sustrato sin vaciar el tanque.

Fa esattamente ciò per cui si vuole acquistarlo: pulizia del fondo e cambio acqua in vasche piccole o comunque con poco spazio per muoversi tra rocce, piante e arredi vari. Aspira bene, con la giusta forza, e si attiva molto facilmente. In dotazione un gancio per fermare il tubo al secchio e uno strozzatubo se si vuole ridurre la forza di aspirazione.

Ich hatte bisher einen klassichen Mulmsauger Marke 5 €-Teil mit Membranpumpe. Sonderlich begeistert war ich nie von dem Ding, aber er war halt da und wurde verwendet. Nun hat sich das Teil nach Jahren in seine Bestandteile aufgelöst und ich brauchte was Neues. Da ich inzwischen nur noch Garnelen in meinem 54 L Becken pflege, sollte der neue Mulmsauger garnelenfreundlich und einfach praktisch sein.Ich bin bei der Suche beim Dennerle Nano Mulmsauger stehengeblieben. Da ich von Dennerle bisher nur gute Qualität gewohnt war, könnte man nichts falsch machen. Geordert, ausprobiert, begeistert!Ich empfinde es als eine Erleichterung, keine Membranpumpe mehr zu benötigen. Das lange Rohr wird ins Wasser gehalten und die Pumpe 2 bis 3 mal (je nach Wasserhöhe) betätigt, und schon fließt das Wasser in den Eimer. Was besonders praktisch ist, ist die Klemme, die an den Eimer gesteckt wird. So kann der Schlauch nicht aus Versehen aus dem Eimer rutschen und eine unfreiwillige Bodenwischorgie auslösen (alles schon erlebt...). Den Durchfluss kann man mittels einer zweiten Klemme regulieren. Dies habe ich einmal getestet und für mich als nicht benötigt befunden. Aber für diejenigen, die einen geringeren Durchfluss möchten oder brauchen, ist dieses Zubehör sinnvoll.Zudem ist es ein 2-in-1 Arbeitsgang. Zuvor mußte erst der Mulm abgesaugt - und später noch der Wasserwechsel gemacht werden. So wird beides in einem Arbeitschritt gemacht.Nun aber zum Hauptaugenmerk: das Absaugen gelingt wirklich sehr gut. Aufgrund des geringen Durchmessers des Absaugrohres ist es ideal, um in die kleinsten Ecken zu kommen. Trotz des nicht ganz so dicken Schlauches hat man genügend Sogkraft, den Mulm und Futterreste aus dem Becken zu befördern, ohne gleich das halbe Wasser abzuschöpfen. Aber was für mich besonders wichtig war, ist der Garnelenschutz. Ich habe (natürlich unabsichtlich! ;) ) leider schon die eine oder andere Garnele beim Absaugen erwischt. Bei der alten Mulmglocke endete die Reise im Stoffsäckchen und es war sehr mühsam, die Krabbler dort wieder herauszubekommen und es musste der ganze Mulm nach Nelen abgesucht werden. Bei diesem Mulmsauger endete es nach einer Achterbahnfahrt durch den Schlauch im Eimer und die Garnelen konnten wohlbehalten aus dem Eimer gekeschert werden. Das kleine Sieb habe ich abmontiert, da es nur störend war. Die obere Klappe muss hingegen drin bleiben, sonst funktioniert die Pumpwirkung nicht.Die Reinigung ist ebenfalls einfach. Nur man muss etwas aufpassen, dass die Teile nicht zu fest auf- oder abgesteckt werden, da sonst der Kunststoff brechen könnte. Das ist der einzige Nachteil an dem Mulmsauger. Mal sehen, ob er genauso lange hält, wie die alte Mulmglocke.Fazit: für kleine Aquarien sehr gutes Zubehör, garnelensicher und ohne lästige Membranpumpe. Einfach mal testen!

J'ai longtemps cherché un "aspirateur" pour nettoyer le fond de mon aquarium pour éliminer les débrits de nourriture et autres qui s'y déposent. Le problème est qu'il ne fallait pas un aspirateur trop puissant pour ne pas avaler tout le sable/gravier mais assez puissant pour retirer les débris. Je voulais aussi un dispositif à tube assez long pour atteindre le fond de mon aquarium qui est plutot en hauteur. J'ai opté pour celui-ci et j'en suis RAVI ! Il fonctionne parfaitement et est très efficace. Le principe est celui du siphonnage (comme pour les réservoirs de voiture). La pompe permet d'amorcer manuellement le siphonnage et l'eau commence à être aspirée et à couler. Il faut juste penser à mettre la sortie du tuyau d'évacuation plus bas que le fond de l'aquarium et surtout à la mettre dans un sceau ou un évier pour évacuer l'eau siphonnée. Ensuite, vous n'avez qu'à balayer le fond de l'aquarium avec le tube rigide comme avec un aspirateur pour que les debris soient entrainés par le flux d'eau et piégés dans le filtre ; il suffit ensuite de les retirer et les jeter. Bref, c'est un système purement mécanique/hydraulique (pas de pile) qui fonctionne parfaitement. Après nettoyage, il faudra penser à refaire le niveau d'eau de l'aquarium car une partie de l'eau aura été aspirée. A noter que l'on peut moduler le débit d'eau aspirée grâce à une petite pince dont on peut ajuster le serrage pour réduire ou augmenter le débit ; c'est simple, pratique et efficace. Une dernière chose, si un gravier est aspiré par le tube, il retombera tout seul dans l'aquarium si vous réduisez légèrement le débit d'eau (donc la force d'aspiration) ou, au pire, vous le récupérerez au niveau du filtre qui stoppe les débris. Bref, je vous recommande vraiment cet aspirateur d'aquarium qui est de conception simple mais qui fonctionne parfaitement et sans pile ou autre.
