Nebula Capsule 3 Laser

I recently purchased the NEBULA Anker Capsule 3 Laser 1080p Mini Projector, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. This compact projector truly blew me away with its exceptional features and performance. First and foremost, the size of this projector is remarkable. The portability is a huge plus for those who love movie nights, gaming sessions, or even professional presentations on the go. The image quality is outstanding, especially considering its small form factor. In a fully dark room, picture at 100inches is quality. I usually watch at around 60% brightness in this setup. If your rooms quite light, move the device closer to the wall to reduce screen size and crank it up to 100% and it’s just as good. Daylight it’s not possible to watch. But I imagine that’s the case for most projectors unless you are spending thousands. It’s short throw, at 3m away from the wall I can get 120 inches. I would highly recommend using with a quality camera tripod. I have a cheap screen but prefer to use the walls. There is a setting to change the wall colour if you have a pale yellow wall it will adjust the colours accordingly. Sound is phenomenal in a small room, I imagined having to buy a Bluetooth speaker but this really isn’t necessary. The fan is super quiet. At 100% brightness the fan runs louder than at 50%… and the less the brightness is the less power the unit consumes. At night I set the unit to power off in 90 minutes when I’m tired and fall to sleep watching, the volume set really low and the brightness on 10% and I can’t hear the fan. Battery life… I’ve done a few tests. At 100% brightness on a 120” screen watching sports I get 40 mins. At 50% brightness on the same screen size I get 105 mins. At 10% brightness I got just shy of 3 hours. I have an anker power bank, if you plug it in when the nebula is at 100% battery it will use the power bank until it empty’s it and then use its own battery, however if you run the nebula battery down to 10% and try to charge off the power bank whilst watching - it doesn’t work at all and the nebula just drains and turns off. So if you have a power bank and want to extend watch time on battery, do this with a fully charged nebula and drain the power bank and then the nebula, not the other way around - just a little quirk that I discovered. Is it a TV replacement, probably not. For me it is, because I only really watch tv in the evenings, so I close the black out blind and the nebula preforms brilliantly. Also use it at night in my camper van. It uses very little power from my on board batteries. In conclusion, Is it worth the money… I think so, I have no regrets buying it. It’s feels quility, the sound is quality, the picture is quality and it uses very little power, less than a 16” MacBook. It’s portable. The only accessory you need to buy with it is a tripod- and maybe a screen if you have patterned walls.

Great, compact projector. Image is stunning, for what I use it for - viewing / streaming. Connectivity is good and I have a variety of headphones / buds paired. Having said this, the onboard speaker can hold its own. Casting is easy with Nebula app, including iOS. Get a case and a tripod / mount and it’s a great travel companion.

This is great for night times on a camping trip or when waiting for a bite when fishing. I'd give it 5 stars but the battery is not quite good enough to get a decent length film but to be fair it's a laser projector the size of a coke can so can't really complain. The picture is good and you can watch it in a lit room but it's best watched in a dark room. My only other complaint is not being able to cast from your phone direct to the projector. You have to have both connected to the same WiFi so no good when camping but you can use a HDMI and I'm looking to see if there are any apps that word enable this feature so that might not be an issue in the future.

It took me a long time to decide on this projector. Reading countless reviews and video reviews. It was £80 off so I took the plunge, this is my first ever projector and it blew me away. A review somewhere on here mentions an Apple like quality and that is the case (having used Apple since 2009). The entire unit is a pleasingly smooth metallic enclosure, it’s really solid and adds a very premium weight, more than I expected! There is a perforated band around the top rear of the unit and of the bottom rear of the unit for ventilation, it’s hardly visible. If you’re in a silent room you will notice a (very) slight hum but nothing to complain about, the instant you play anything you’ll never hear it again! Mine was placed about 3-4 feet away from my headboard but the sound was spectacularly clear and I’m very picky with my audio and visual quality. You really do hear every whisper and slight noise with perfect clarity. Bass was cracking for movies. In a slightly larger living room setting you’ll notice the audio can’t quite manage though unfortunately, a Bluetooth addition of some kind is advised. Visual quality, in my bedroom the projector screen was just over 2 metres from viewing, this is far too close and again as some review mentions you can see all the pixels and it’s not pleasant. But have an acceptable viewing range and the image is gorgeous! The maximum output is 4K with HDR10, when streaming from Disney+ with all those additions Marvel films absolutely pop and I was stunned. Unfortunately I couldn’t shell out for it due to personal circumstances and it was returned but when those circumstances change I will definitely be back for this or future iterations! If you have the right setup of space and audio equipment, highly recommended.

As far as functionality, picture quality and audio are concerned this is an excellent product and very easy to use, and incredibly portable. However, my specific unit has a battery issue in that only after 16 months of use the battery can barely last long enough for an extended film. They report use of 2 1/2 hours in Eco mode but under perfect conditions I can only get a maximum of one hour 44 minutes. I have reported the issue to anker and their AI bot gave me advice on how to run a runtime test at Low/Eco battery power, moderate volume and the projector run time from switching on to completely discharging was one hour and 44 minutes. Given that everybody needs time to start up, connect to Wi-Fi, login to services, search for content to watch et cetera the battery is undoubtedly no longer fit for purpose and way under the advertised performance. The after sales experience has been poor. Amazon class Anker as a reseller so aren’t interested themselve and will only divert you to anker’s own AI customer service bot, which is frankly useless. After five attempts and repeatedly entering the information relating to the fault I was experiencing it repeatedly timed out and all I ended up getting was recognition that there was an issue with the battery and to carry out their recommended runtime test. The AI bot however does not keep a record of any of the chats so every time it times out you have to go back and start again and conveniently for Anker, the chat’s are not retained or downloadable so there is no record available to me or to them in terms of the advice I have been given by their customer service system. Eventually I managed to speak (via email) to a person but they were US based who have no interest or knowledge of UK consumer law. I eventually contacted Anker UK requesting that they carry out a repair or replacement under the consumer rights act of 2015 and they immediately dismissed any responsibility as the product is three months out of warranty and put the owness on me to pay to have the projector dismantled and tested by a qualified electronics engineer, despite providing evidence the battery is failing. Disappointing that a company has large and with a reputation like Anker have chosen not to take responsibility and keep a long-term loyal customer (I’ve many Anker products over the years) happy. I’m now pursuing a section 75 claim with my Credit Card company. I cannot recommend this product as a true portable projector given the issue with the battery, however if you want something small that can run only on mains power it’s a fabulous unit. 20/12/25 - UPDATE. So since posting my above review I have heard from Anker UK who have told me they will make an exception and have offered a refurbished replacement. My immediate thought was to accept the gesture but before doing so I asked anker to confirm if the refurbished model has a new battery, or has had a runtime test detailed and carried out on the battery, and how much limited warranty would be available on the refurbished replacement. Anker responded confirming only that refurbished models are quality controlled to meet their own standards but they offer absolutely zero warranty or guarantee on the refurbished model being issued to me and that they cannot confirm if the battery is a brand-new replacement battery nor were they willing to confirm that any specific runtime tests had been carried out on the battery. On this basis I declined the refurbished unit as it could put me at risk of having accepted an inferior product with zero recourse of being able to make a complaint under the consumer rights act. Anker seem very keen to make this problem go away but without actually resolving the specific issue of the defective battery in my projector

Firstly, my review is from the perspective of a first time projector purchase and one of a nit-picky likes-her-tech to work, be straight-forward and no fuss. Spoiler alert I love this device, thank you Anker! The manual said charge to full first and pleased to say that was just ten minutes. Setup went through some basic positioning and then on to setting up Android TV. What an amazingly simple process, all driven from your Google App on your phone. A few nexts, oks and your WiFi and Google account are all setup. What a treat! Love it! All that was with the living room lights on and the screen was perfectly clear for that. Obviously challenged by the bright ambient light but I was surprised still how good it was. Quickly added Amazon Prime Video and picked Avatar. Lights out and.... oh wow! 300 ISO lumens and it's this good? I'm so so happy it's turned out so wonderfully sharp and bright and colours are so vivid. Further context, I usually watch on an OLED TV so I'm quite judgemental. No complaints here! Having read so many projector reviews whilst waiting for today I can say that no rainbow effect (wasn't sure what to expect to be fair) and detail at 1080P is just so sharp. Watching the credits roll up the screen and the text is pin sharp. The auto adjustments are such a boon, none of that zoom and twiddle the keystone. All done for you, fabulous! Audio is great too. I have a number of Bluetooth speakers from Bose, Marshall and was wondering if they would be needed but absolutely not. The bluetooth speaker feature of this device will mean only need to pack this for trips. Room for another pair of shoes! Here's the icing. I'm without my projector screen tonight so this was setup and projected on a wall. And it was that good already! On my proper screen it's going to be more amazing. If, like me, you were wondering if 300 lumens would be disappointing or the sound would be lacking, or the fan would be noisy or any other of the categories projectors are measured against then fear not. Android TV is brilliant too if you've not experienced that. I'm so glad it runs this OS. I'm going to bed this eve very very pleased with this purchase. It was pricey but I wanted a laser projector and it's exceeded my expectations. I'm sure it will yours too (unless you're money bags and can tolerate a huge noisy lump in the living room). So compact! too Thank you Anker for a great product x (ps will you please make a nice case for it soon!) Quick update after a few more days use. BBC iPlayer needs to be added. Simple enough after googling how but works perfectly once done. Netflix is supported but it's not the usual version so needs to be controlled via the Nebula mobile app. However I had a Fire TV stick not in use and that's sorted Netflix perfectly. What's also handy is that Plex and VLC apps are available so playing movies from you or NAS or an SD Card work (I used the later) and using a USB-C hub allows Ethernet too. I expect the Netflix point might annoy some people but it's easily solved and to mention AppleTV and Disney are all supported. Prime too obviously.

I bought this to enable us to do work presentations without relying on the client to provide the A/V equipment, it's compact but a little on the heavy side. Personally if I was Nebula/Anker I would offer a Capsule model without a battery - as that is where the bulk of the weight is and I would wager that most users are going to leave this plugged in with USB-C Power all or most of the time. The battery is just weight and will degrade over time. The picture is crisp and clear, love the autofocus and auto keystone - absolute class.

Mi sono affacciato da poco al mondo dei proiettori portatili, e dopo averne provati diversi appena hai in mano un Nebula Capsule Laser 3 capisci che e' anni luce migliore di tutto il resto. Compatto, solido volume eccellente, sistema operativo rapido, qualità immagine eccezionale. Ha un costo importante ma se n'è innamorata anche mia moglie, ad ogni viaggio lo portiamo con noi ed in ogni albergo/hotel/appartamento avevamo la nostra "tv" su misura, con i nostri programmi preferiti salvati, l'assistente google....spettacolare! Per non parlare della chicca, la presa hdmi che permette di collegarci laptop e pc, passando da 15 pollici a 100. Ci guadagna la vista, l'experience complessiva, e non potrei mai più stare senza. E' un oggetto che viene invidiato e desiderato da chiunque lo veda. Mia moglie compresa! Non ha nulla a che vedere con i miniproiettori cinesi che possono essere paragonati ad un giocattolo, rispetto ad un prodotto premium e professionale come questo nebula laser 3!

Excellent, small, portable and great picture!

Just received the Nebula last night and I am positively bluffed. I intend to use it as a replacement for television and was afraid it wouldn't be bright enough during the day. In full daylight in a bright room with traversing light, it is still perfectly visible and sufficient for daytime tv/news (image 1&2). At night/full darkness the image is perfect ( 3 is evening with full light on; 4 &5, in full darkness, the pictures dont do it justice) The sound is also unexpectedly good for the size. Better than expected.

Van alle nieuwste projectoren die er toen waren bij het lanceren van de Capsule 3 , is en blijft deze de beste die ik ooit heb gehad. Ik gebruik deze voor de V Califorian , zonder hechting omdat de popup roof open staat , kan je deze perfect boven je kast plaatsen. Persoonlijk heb ik een stereo speaker set ingebouw in het frame van het popup dak waardoor deze op analoge manier kan aangesloten worden op de projector. Maw, ik heb dus perfect stereo geluid 'achter' het projectiescherm en deze geeft behoorlijk scherpe belden en perfecte resolutie. Maakt geen lawaai , daar de vorm klein is past deze ook bijna overal en voelt heel sterk aan. Mensen die een projector zoeken voor outdoors, deze is het want hij past zich dynamisch aan zowel voor de afstand en hoek, als een bewegend projectiescherm ! (lichte wind, met sterke wind is dit natuurlijk logisch en ook ongemakkelijk)
