The Blue Bird [DVD]

The rating for the quality of the picture and sound was 5 but the faulty dvd rating I give 1.The film was a present for an elderly friend which she first saw as a child with her mother in the 1930s. Unfortunately the dvd only played for half of the film before it started jumping and then totally froze. I tried the dvd on my own player and again it froze in the same position.The quality of the film upto that point was very good resulting in being disappointed with the product.10/10 for Amazon for their prompt reaction on accepting back the faulty dvd and reimbursement to us.Thank youMc

I searched everywhere for this film as I watched it when younger and loved the magical feel about it.Sadly when it arrived it only worked for 20 minutes, seller refunded so back to my hunt for this dvd

I bought this for my mum who is 86 and has alzheimers.She has often mentioned how much she loved this film when she was younger, so I decided to seek it out as a Xmas gift.Really pleased to find it, and surprised at the excellent quality.The film is in english, and it is very easy to remove any foreign subtitles.Yes, it is old fashioned and rather cheesy, but I am sure it will bring back happy memories to many people.

First watched this film when my children were small and we all loved it. Now they are grown up and have families of their own, but my younger daughter asked me if I had ever seen a copy for sale. So I purchased this and we all watched it with her children. They enjoyed it, we both had a weep and fun was had by all!

Watched this movie as a child....Still enjoy to this day. A Very beautiful emotional movie...a MUST SEE Especially for Shirley Temple(May She Rest In Peace In Heaven ..just like she was in Heaven In this movie) Fans. I Love ALL her movies and this Will Always bring fond memories of watching with my Family as a little girl.

This is surprisingly good. Shirley Temple does not give her usual sugary performance, but plays a rather nasty, petulant little girl who learns valuable life lessons while searching for the bluebird of happiness. It compares favourably with the later version starring Elizabeth Taylor, which was very amateurish.

The DVD was delivered in the time stated and in good condition. The quality of the DVD was fine, unfortunately, (no fault of the those who produced the DVD) the film itself was awful - I can see why it didn't do well at the time.. I only wanted it because it was the first film I remembered seeing as a 3 year old. So I wasn't disappointed. I found it interesting.

I spent aaages trying to find this for my Mum-we used to watch it all the time when I was tiny, and I managed to get it for her for Christmas and it didn't fail to disappoint...a massive blub-fest ensued. Definitely one to watch as it has some very poignant and clever ideas.
