Question 1

Mine doesn't seem to work. I put the can in and push down the lever and it just makes a humming sound but nothing turns or cuts or anything... Ideas?

Can Opener
1. Lift the blade bracket and plug the unit into an
electrical outlet.
2. Tip the can forward so that its rim is under
the locating post and against the drive wheel.
Press down the cutting lever and make sure the
blade is inside the rim (see Fig. 4).
3. The can will rotate and the blade will cut the can
lid open. Because of the hands-free feature, it
is not necessary to hold blade bracket down or
support the can during cutting.
NOTE: In case the total weight of a can is over
18oz, it is necessary to press and hold the can
opener to avoid overturning.
Note: The can required to be opened shall be
50mm to 100mm in diameter and 160mm max
in height. In the case total weight of can is over
510g, it is necessary to press and hold the can
opener to avoid overturning.
4. When the can is opened, the can opener will
stop automatically. To remove the can, hold it with one hand and raise the blade bracket with the
other one.
5. CAUTION: Avoid contact with the cut edges of the can or lids as they are sharp, carefully remove
the lid from the magnet and discard.
NOTE: The time of continuously opening cans should not exceed 3 minutes.
6. The excess cord can be stuffed into cord storage at the back of the unit. Feed the cord through the
notch for convenient storage.
Warning: The cans opened with this can opener must be less than 21 oz in weight.
Can Opening Tips
1. This can opener should not be used to open cans designed to be opened by another method,
such as a pull tab, peel-off foil seal, or rolling key. This can opener will not open rimless cans or
cans with angled corners.
2. If there is a dent in the rim of a can, open the other end or start the cutting action just beyond
the dent.
3. Cans with heavy seams, uneven rims or odd shapes may cause the can opener to stall. If this
occurs, turn the can slightly by hand to aid the cutting action.
4. Cans with aluminum lids will not stick to
the magnet.

Does this works on oval shaped cans? How about spam cans?

I am not really happy with this can opener in general. It is not an easy task to open cans period. It was billed as a can opener to open tall cans. No go. I don't use it much but would not recommend it.

Is they're Insurance plan so if it breaks?
