Simply beautiful.
Another fabulous book by Beth Russell. Beautiful charts and all the wool quantities are given etc. Also bought William Morris Needlepoint, the two books complement each other, different designs in each. A real must for anyone seriously interested in needlepoint.

VALUE FOR MONEY
Beautiful pictures. The instructions look very well explained. Not done needlepoint for a while so the proof will be in the under taking. Looking forward to trying very much. It was just the book to re-start my interest again.

Great designs
Already had a copy of this book from the original edition however I purchased this one because Beth Russell emailed me to say that the charts were more clear than in the original edition. I've embroidered many of Beth's designs; she can get the shading and depth without using hundreds of different covers. I always approach finishing a design wishing that I didn't have to. Currently embroidering one the rug designs. As with all embroidery books with charts, it's always better to scan in and print on a larger scale for ease on eyes.

So inviting!
I received this book and I was immediately thrilled about it! I did not yet have another needlepoint book on William Morris, so for me there was no issue with designs being already published in other books. This book contains larger and smaller projects. Many designs are in the style shown at the front. Charts are clear and in colour. Some symmetric charts have only a left or right half, which you will have to copy mirrorwise. Nonetheless, the designs are beautiful and stay close to the original designs by William Morris, William the Morgan and Tiffany themselves. (Most designs are based on work by Morris, but there are other designs based on work of his contempories closer to the back of the book.)The author gives practical information (for starters like me) on several types of canvas availbable, frames and framing, cottons/wool and how to estimate extra quantities needed if you want to extend a background etc.I strongly recommend this book!

Nothing new
I was really looking forward to getting this book. I love Beth Russell's designs and have made several of them in the past. What a disappointment to discover that almost all the designs featured had been published before in either Traditional Needlepoint or William Morris Needlepoint. I felt cheated and ripped off. I think the publishers were really naughty to essentially repackage the content of two previous books and Beth has gone down in my estimation as a result.
