Good
not Suitable for border terrier as his little snout was too short for it to work, but could see it being beneficial for bigger breeds. Easily washes in dishwasher, but by hand would be tricky.

Does what it says
Perfect for slowing him down eating. Worth the money

Good item that, so far, does the job
Since I've only just received it, I can't fully comment on sturdiness or durability. It's unrealistic to comment at this time. I think it will be fine and it does slow down my dog's eating so she isn't gulping down her food.

Has worked a treat to slow one of our dogs down with his easting.
One of our dogs used to guzzle his food in seconds and then shout at the others while they were eating. This has worked to slow him right down and now he is so distracted with getting every last morsel from the bowl that he is still occupied when we collect the bowls from the other dogs.

the bowl has slowed my puppy down,
My border terrier puppy was eating very quickly, she now finishes at the same time as my older border, so there are no squabbles

Does what it’s supposed to do... it DOES slow down eating!
I bought this for my 5 month old Jack Russell puppy who scoffed her food normally in 30 seconds or less, I’ve fed her with this new bowl twice now and on BOTH occasions it’s taken her at least 4 minutes to eat her meal. We’re currently feeding her 90g of food per meal in a 80/20 ratio of wet/dry food. There is PLENTY of room for I would guess double possibly treble that amount but you need to ensure you have mixed it together BEFORE putting it in the bowl, as it’s difficult after because of the ‘prongs’ and it’ll not be evenly dispersed. Since using this bowl she seems far more content and satisfied with her food, she has tried to chew the ‘prongs’ that stick up but then she’s a puppy and wants to chew everything! Just knowing this can improve her digestion and lessen her risk of bloating is worth the money. The bowl is sturdy and well made but I do have just the one criticism though, the non slip feet are tiny, very small and thin. I do believe that ultimately it would have been better if the entire base was of a non slip rubber, as an enthusiastic, very hungry puppy will push their bowl around the floor trying to get in to all the nooks and crevices so I’ve found it’s best to place in a corner with the sides/walls used to limit it’s movement. I would have been prepared to spend a little more on his bowl for that extra enhancement. Worth the money, I am a very satisfied full paying customer!

Much more controlled eating
I have a very large rescue lurcher who just attacks his food and can empty a good sized bowl in seconds. I do not have his past history however I can imagine part of it was lack of food. Not only is fast eating bad for his digestion and his health, it is also bad for us (I will leave this to your imagination however when gulping down his food he also gulped down a lot of air which has to exit at some stage!) - he now spends about 5 minutes eating his breakfast and/or supper when it took literally seconds with a normal bowl. At first it was like "what is this" and the accusing look - after a couple of days I think he actually enjoys picking out his food. He sometimes leaves some and comes back later for them. Another thing that I noticed is that he actually chews the biscuits which is good for his teeth - before they were just being "shovelled" down without chewing. Can't get him to chew each mouthful 100 times :) (isn't that what we are supposed to do?) however it is a 100% improvement. The bowl is very sturdy and is totally dishwasher safe. The price is really good to - I compared it with a pet shop slow feeder and this one was easily about a third less expensive. One final point - this bowl has quite a lot of "wells" whereas other bowls I have seen in the shops only seem to have 3, so this one makes the dog work more for his meals. Thoroughly recommend if you have a "gulper" or a rescue dog that had to fight for his food, and especially recommended for deep chested dogs to prevent bloat.

OK
I thought this bowl would stop my dog from gulping down his food but he still does it even with this bowl - disappointed
