Will this work for installing an SSD in the super drive bay on an imac?  Thanks in advance

Verify iMac has the necessary mounting points. They are very price comepetitive & come with all parts required & so far, after installing 8 of them, no issues!  Also recommend the Samsung 840 Pro SSD.  I have 8 of the 500Gbyte! There's no picture to confirm. On the connect that the 2.5" drive connects to, will it accept a SAS drive. No Notch between power and sata interface.

This is for Solid state Hard drive adapter from 2.5 to 3.5 space holder. you will need this for desktop hard drive slot.

What about the power if i want to setup a Notebook HDD into my Dektop (format purposes)?

This adaptor has all the same jacks as a full-sized SATA HDD. I used this to put an SSD in my 2012 (old-style chassis) Mac Pro. It just simply screws into whatever bracket would normally be holding the HDD and then you plug the same cables into the aforementioned jacks/ports on the adaptor. You would have to look at the pictures, as it has been too long for me to remember, but I am pretty sure there are mounting holes (for the screws) on both the top and on the side of the adaptor. I used the top holes (as I have a Mac Pro) and it installed flawlessly. If it is an older Mac Pro like mine, you screw the bracket into the carrier and slide the carrier into place (as Apple has the SATA plugs set in fixed locations in the back). If you are using a PC where the SATA wires are plugged in by hand, just put the 3.5" drive in the bracket, mount the bracket just like any other SATA drive, and then plug in the cables by hand.

My imac has sata 2.0 interface (3gb/s). will this product also upgrade the speed to be sata 3.0 (6gb/s)?

Hello Steve Li,Great question. The NewerTech AdaptaDrive is fully compatible with SATA I,II and III. However you will only get drive speeds if the interface your computer has.
