I’m a 20+ year educator that is no longer in a traditional classroom. This book opened my eyes to see that the qualities Eckert discuses go beyond the classroom. They’ve helped me as a leader, a parent, and even as a basketball coach! It is simply, yet elegantly, written. Accessible to a young mind, and refreshing & challenging for an “old dog” like me. Dr. Eckert masterfully writes on how teachers are meant to teach for Justice and how our classrooms are to be life-giving environments.
