This was really a fun project. I am a 62 year old grandmother and I have a lot of hobbies. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles and I thought why not this? I love that it plays music, turns, and has colored lights. It's so pretty! I took this photo at night to try and show how it looks with the lights. My husband did have to help me out with the spring, but mission accomplished! I must say that the company who made this really doesn't miss anything and there is so much attention to detail on the wood pieces. Don't rush on this project and be ready for some patience. I also appreciate the fact that the company sent me an email following this purchase referencing a helpful tutorial youtube video on putting this together from start to finish. Bravo! I'm looking forward to making another model from Woodtrick in the future. It was a pleasant distraction from all the troubles going on in the world.

I love 3D puzzles. I have done a ton of them. I typically go with a different popular brand however I didn’t like their carousels and came across this one. I thought it was really pretty and would be a great addition to my collection. I read other people’s reviews, most of which complained about the directions. The directions are so so. They’re not the greatest, but you’re able to figure them out. The pieces are difficult to pop out so much so that the tips of my fingers are sore and I haven’t made it past the base. I can’t get passed the spring thing. It is so difficult to wind that I have to use towels to coat my hands. Then once you finally get it wound you have to fold a piece of the metal over and under the wood. I have been working on this part for over an hour. I thought I finally had it but the spring popped the wooden pieces off and sent them flying. Now I can’t find one of the tiny wooden pieces and there are no extra pieces! So if you lose one or one breaks the puzzles is essentially useless!! So I’ve now spent $70 for nothing!! Never have I been so frustrated with a 3D puzzle in my life!!!!

This kit is pretty complex. Directions are good but you must follow them closely, especially when making multiple components that look very much the same. Use the numbered pieces in the exact order shown.The spring assembly I found impossible to finish correctly so I left it without the final step of looping the end as shown. I just left it unhooked and the carousel worked well in the end anyway.WARNING!! Hold the spring with a towel or rag when you cut the tape holding it wound up. It cut my thumb when I cut the tape. It is wound tightly and will explosively expand!!! I also glued the assembly that holds the spring. This is by far the most difficult part of building this kit.

This was a great project with my daughter who is eight. We used paint pens to color it before putting it together. Much sturdier than similar products from other brands. Remember to use the wax on all moving parts!

The thought of this product appeals to me in so many ways. I love the simplicity of what it “should have been”. Yes many hours are involved, but had the potential to be a beautiful product.The instructions on assembly are drawing. For the most part everything is the way it should until you get the mechanical part of the box playing. While the gears make sense, the box does not. Mounting it as they suggest and the position of the gears change among the photos. I was left with a “left sided musical box” with the mounts supposed to be on the right… looks the same but opposite.The photos change it back and forth so I don’t know who is right.Pissed I put it down and walk away for a month. Going back I retraced everything that I did because of doing something backwards or wrong is humongous. Retracing, my steps were correct but yet it don’t fit.Other issues besides the box was the wood being able to support the pressure of spring.It’s a beautiful stationary piece at best, I don’t like to write a negative comment but this was my experience.

Overall the product is very pretty and unique and a good design. However, multiple pieces broke during the building process and during trial uses, making the music box aspect inoperable. It is still a good showpiece, but certain mechanical component of the design need improvement.I even bought a second one of them after a vital piece broke, as it was intended as a gift, but the same thing occurred after the second undertaking.

This set is stunning when finished and goes great sitting under my weeping pussy willow tree! Adds a lot of character to it! Straight forward assembly but the spring was the challenge! I looked up a video on YouTube and figured out how they did it and it worked! I did glue the 4 prongs that hold the spring assembly together because they were too loose and kept coming apart! Gluing them helped a lot!

Es muy bonito pero a mí hija le costaba mucho encajar las piezas y no consigio montar el muelle/alambre asique no pudo terminarlo y no es la primera maqueta de madera que hace.

Résultat époustouflant avec en plus la musique de la vie en rose. Le plus difficile est le montage du ressort qu'il faut tendre dans un ensemble de pièces a monter pour l'inclure. Le mal aux doigts est garanti mais le résultat en vaut la peine.

This is a beautiful to put together Parisian Carousel that uses 3D wood pieces ( total pieces 440 ) using top grade sanded plywood , no glue needed . It takes around 3 hours to construct ( it takes me a lot longer but I do not rush I savour it ) . This will be the third one I have put together a Robotime 3D marble run and a Baroque clock , there are a huge collection that suits everyone to choose from all different and excellent quality . Lovely models that family can get together and children can join in to share quality time together . This carousel is a music box and is backlit using 2x CR2032 batteries ( not included ) . Looks great as a feature piece on a shelf or even a night light and is a good talking point . They make lovely gifts that are different .

This is not the best product at all! Parts easily break even with absolute care and using the wax appropriately! I’ve built many of these products and this one is not produced well enough. I am unable to return this as it was bought a short time ago amongst many others and have only just got round to attempting to put this together.Not the bestSave your moneyNot that they care I guess
