About this item Being a very popular herbal supplement used in medicine, the slippery elm powder is a very versatile herb which can be used in many ways. Having a slight fenugreek aroma, the slippery elm is perfect as a herbal tea with honey or used in a smoothie for easy consumption. Great for my dog
I was recommended this when my dog had an upset tummy and diarrhoea. A tsp mixed with his usual food for a meal or two is usually all it takes to get him right again so it lasts a long time. A great discovery.

Using in my horses feed
I brought the Slippery Elm powder after reading that people have fed it to horses that suffer with stomach ulcers. As my 14 year old gelding suffers with ulcers, especially over the winter period I thought I would give it a go as the Gastroguard sold by vets is far too expensive and not possible to feed constantly as it costs a £1000 a month!!!!!! My horse likes the taste and is fed 6 teaspoons a day, so 50g lasts about 12 days. He is also given corn oil and Aloe Vera juice in the same feed. It does seem to help, but I will know more after this next winter as winter is the time when he suffers the most.

GREAT for Tummy Troubles
I thank slippery elm - alongside manuka honey - for soothing and eliminating ongoing digestive issues - immense stomach/digestive pain and other horrible symptoms. I mixed a teaspoon of slippery elm with some slightly warm water before holding my nose and drinking it every morning before breakfast! Another method I used to eat it was to sprinkly it onto a bowl of natural yoghurt and honey. I personally did not like the earthy taste and thick texture when added to water but a couple of minutes of an unpleasant taste is WELL WORTH the relief of horrible symptoms. My grandmother swears by it for any tummy niggles and now I will too! Arrived well packed and quickly! Great service.
