Henry sucks - in a good way.
Bought for cleaning our church hall. As I am already an owner of a Henry, it was bought with first hand experience. Although not quite as powerful as my own 1200w Henry, which I have had for a number of years and still going strong, there is still good suction and is doing a far superior job than the old vacuum cleaner. The long lead means I don't have to keep unplugging it so much. It is more of a commercial style cleaner but this model is a little lighter than my own 1200w model. If you are looking for performance, this is far better than a regular cleaner. Ok, it is more bulky but it is not too heavy to pull around, at least not on short pile carpet (no experience with long pile). I have not had a problem with it falling over as some others have commented but I guess it depends how you pull it round. The hose is a bit longer than an average cleaner and so I find it doesn't actually need moving round quite so much. It has no dual speed switch on this model but I wouldn't want less suction anyway. The large capacity bags means it doesn't need emptying so often. I would personally only recommend using the Hepaflow bags. Even when nearly full, there is still decent performance. As someone has previously commented, the metal pipes are a little thinner than the older models but still seem robust. I am not sure if you can still get the hose extension for this model but it used to be available so you can go up the stairs in one hit. The tools are nothing fancy but quite adequate and seem sturdy - no silly gimmicks. An extra feature I don't have on my own Henry is a clip for attaching the pipes for storage. However, I can see this being a bit of a weak point and could easily snap off - not an essential feature. It arrived very swiftly - much earlier than estimated (bought from G & J supplies). I have pets at home and my Henry has always done a good job of cleaning. Recommend it.

Excellent Vacuum Cleaner, watch the bag system...
Numatic (Henry) commercial vacuum cleaner was bought to replace our previous Alyix, which was just a little bit this side of useless. This Numatic is everything the Alyix wasn't: Powerful (lifts the carpet tiles if we aren't careful), does a whole house hoovering before you have to empty the bag, doesn't struggle with anything, and just gets on with the job, so you don't need to keep going over the same area again and again, as we did with the Alyix. All in all a 'proper' vacuum cleaner! Only four stars because of the bag system. It comes with a nice cloth bag, which looks, to the uninitiated (like me), that it can be emptied and then used again. But when you remove it, apart from the small hole where the dust goes in, there is no way to empty it! So the first time or two I spent ages pulling hair and dust and stuff out of the little hole, into the bin, and thinking this is a weird way of emptying a bag. A bit of research showed that these lovely cloth bags were not meant to be emptied, they were meant to be thrown away! This is a wicked waste of resources, but they like you to buy lots of very expensive bags, and throw them away after they get full. To somebody of my generation, used to either using cheap paper bags several times over before throwing them away, or using a bagless system that could be emptied and brushed out, this waste of strongly-made cloth bags seemed incredible! But a bit of research on ebay showed that not only are much cheaper aftermarket paper bags available for this machine, but also good-quality cloth bags with a zipper top, that can be emptied after each use, and then re-used! So now we use the zippered ones, and these are likely to last up to a year apiece before they have to be discarded. Much less expensive, and much easier on resources! So in summary, a good little vacuum cleaner, powerful suck, and holds plenty before it has to be emptied, but let down a bit by its bag system. So much waste could be prevented if companies were not so greedy for profit.

The best all round
We used an original Henry cleaner for many years and years. I couldn't believe it when it stopped working. We knew straight away that we had to replace it with a new Henry. This same model was still for sale and that just proves how good they are. When our new Henry arrived via Amazon within 48 hours, we were delighted. There were some small improvements such as lighter tubes and a section in the front of Henry to store the accessories easily. Also the main wire is longer. I can plug Henry into a socket in the front room of our Bungalow and it will let me clean to the back room some distance of around 12 mts. The price was also good and cheaper than expected. The suction is really good and Henry glides along with you. All in all we are very satisfied. Highly recommended.
