Will pleased with the travel clock

So far I’m really pleased with this travel alarm clock. It’s well made, sturdy and nicely designed. It’s a bit tricky to set the time and alarm, but maybe it’ll be easier if I remove the battery cover, then replace it afterwards, as there’s not much room to get hold of the buttons otherwise. That’s the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars. It’s a good size for travelling with, and the dial face is easy to read. The actual alarm is a good volume and there is no ticking noise to disturb my sleep throughout the night. I think it’s good value for the price, and I’m definitely not disappointed that I bought it.

This item does everything it says it should. Good loud beep to wake you up. Folds neatly for travel. Keeps good time. Only trouble is, the button for turning it off is tiny, and situated awkwardly at the back, so you spend ages struggling to turn it off. It certainly ensures that you are wide awake, if rather irritated and grumpy at the start of the day!

According to the listing underneath Technical Details - no battery is required - but one is required; and that has to be supplied by the purcasher. The case is more robust than I imagined it was going to be; that fact will, fingers crossed, mean that the clock will survive a reasonable amount of travel abuse. The clock is held in position, when it is open, by the same plastic tag that allows the case to be locked in position when it is closed. Pushing on a serrated indent frees the tag in order to open the case. The back of the clock needs to be removed to insert the required AA size battery. It is easier to set the alarm and time when the back is off as a proper puchase can be obtained on the rotating controls - something which is harder to do when the back is on the clock. I could not hear any ticking of the clock. I find this clock to be visually appealing and somewhat 'luminous' as regards to viewing in the dark. The alarm is fairly strident; and should, I feel, wake up most people. There is no alarm 'cancel' button as such, but one can switch off the alarm via a slide switch, which is located on the back of the clock.
