Although this recorder isn't quite as good quality as the one I had back at school many years ago (I wonder where the school got those ones from as they were great!!) it is still far superior than the cheap plastic ones that are readily available. The sound is precise, accurate and can be as loud or quiet as you make it, it is very pleasant on the ear. The recorder feels lightweight and looks traditionally nice and shiny with the Aulos logo. The only negative I have is that it is slightly too easy for the top bit to twist around and also if your fingers aren't precisely on the holes especially on the lower notes you can produce a squeeky sound rather than the note you are after.
