UniBond 2079321 Anti-Mould Sealant / White Silicone Sealant for Kitchen and Bathroom / 1 x 147 g Tube

I bought a tube of this product rather than one of the larger cartridges that require a gun.There are obvious advantages that the tubes have, and unless I needed to apply sealant over a large area in one go, I would choose a tube every time. The cartridges do contain a fair amount of sealant but I nearly always only need a fraction of the contents. The cartridge usually ends up back in the shed and forgotten about, with the contents going off before I ever get around to using it again.The tube is small and neat with a screw lid. Contents will keep for three months (off the top of my head), so if you're doing a series of small areas like I am, you can take your time and use the sealant gradually.The cartridge requires a metal gun cage, but the tube is manually squeezed out. The perfectionists amongst us who don't use silicone sealant regularly will prefer the greater amount of control that the tubes give when applying, particularly around corners where the cumbersome cartridge and gun can make application tricky.I've found that this sealant applies smoothly and is easily wiped up when neatening up the application. It sets within 24 hours to a brilliant white. I have been using it to reapply to internal silicone uPVC window joints which had become unsightly with mould. The areas are always prone to mould staining. The sealant has remained brilliant white since applying.I've ordered a second tube of this stuff because of the convenience of storage and easy application. I don't feel pressured to use all the sealant up quickly and know I can tackle replacing all the old silicone sealant around the house over time. Removing the old sealant is enough of a faff without being on a go-fast to use a whole cartridge off sealant up before it disappears into the shed black hole or sets!!!Good stuff

I much preferred applying sealant using this tube rather than the gun. I personally found it more controlled and more precise. Gave a really nice finish and didn't keep dispensing if you stopped squeezing (which I have had happen with the gun) I found it went a long way and I love that I can clean the nozzle, stick the lid back on and save it for later, so it actually worked out better value when I accounted for the lost sealant that had gone off in the unfinished gun style tube before.It still emits the acetic acid smell, but it's not a strong as some I've used.Maybe it's just because I hate using the gun, or maybe it is actually great, but I loved this tube.

Bit tricky at first but works fine once you've got the hang of it. Great for small jobs, especially in an awkward spot.

I ordered a tube and unfortunately it was mostly solid, but I was sent a new one out the following day, no problems. This stuff works and treat and is so much easier and less messy than using a caulking gun. I ended up ordering three more to get the job done. One of them had the back end burst, which was messy, but overall a great product that gives great, almost effortless results. Definitely recommend if you don't like using caulking guns.

After reading a lot of reviews, I was hesitant to buy this but I needed sealant in a hurry and didn’t want to have to mess around with a gun and tube set up.The package arrived on time and intact and after reading the instructions on the back of the tube, I got to it.The tube is a little hard to squeeze the sealant out of but it’s worth persevering as once it got going, it wasn’t too bad. The sealant itself was pretty thick which was good and it spread easily so it didn’t take me too long to reseal the edges of my shower.The downside is the smell. Reviews here said it was like vinegar but it’s much, much worse, almost like acetone. It may be because I have asthma but I only lasted five minutes before grabbing a face mask to try and ease the sting from the fumes and I still had to take breaks every couple of minutes because my eyes were stinging from it as much as my throat was so I would say if you have sensitivities or asthma, take precautions because you WILL feel it.Once I was done, it was easy enough to smooth it all out and after three hours, I tested their ‘touch dry’ claim by running the shower for ten minutes. The seal held perfectly so I would recommend this sealant for other novices like me.

The product itself is good, but the carton/container is rubbish and that's being polite, as soon as I started to squeeze it the seam split open and I ended up with a handful of silicon, for a product that's mega expensive for what it is, this isn't good enough, be warned

This was sufficient sealant to seal one shower basin, It does not require a metal gun by which to apply it. The cut needed at the nozzle to begin applying is marked out with a line as a guide to cutting. A nice help. It takes some effort to squeeze the sealant out, Some strength, and for a few minutes it takes to apply it.The price was good and a known brand. I use masking tape as the online guides advise which I peeled off as soon as I had applied the sealant. Going slowing but not stop and start - and being patient - is the key top a good seal I'd say.

This is a smallish tube of sealant. I thought it would suit me as I had a small project in hand and the sealant tends to solidify if you don't use it fairly quickly. You need to chop the internal nozzle open, there are grooves on the nozzle to act as guidelines and you need something to smooth the sealant into the gap you are sealing. The tube is light weight and I found it easy to run a line of sealant as required.

They said that it was Anti-mould , but in 10months it has badly moulded in kitchen area. No difference with regular sealant
